I am shocked to read some of the bad reviews. We are from out of town, and have my 95 year old mom in this hospital for the second time in a week. The nurses, staff and doctors have been incredibly responsive, caring, patient and empathetic. I could not ask for more, and our family has had a LOT of experience in hospitals over the years. This is by no small measure some of the best care we have experienced. If I have to think of a negative, I could only say that the coffee in the cafeteria is truly awful. Bring your own.
I am absolutely disgusted with the ER overnight staff! My husband took our 9 year old daughter to the ER last night because she was having an asthma attack. My husband and my daughter sat in the waiting room for 2 hours! They got there at 1AM! There is absolutely NO reason they could give me to make this okay! They took her for a covid test, and a chest xray but NEVER saw a doctor and NEVER had a room and NEVER got treatment for her ASTHMA ATTACK! My husband decided to just leave since she wasn't getting treated. She will NOT EVER be going back there again for an asthma attack and will start going back to Grandview even though it's further for us! If I could give them negative stars for this I absolutely would! They clearly did not care about the well being of our daughter! How absolutely appalling!
One star because I can’t go less! Brought my mom in at 2:30pm on Monday to Er did not get in a room til 9:00. Pm did not leave er til mid night. Then. We were called back on Friday by hospital say she needed to come back because of her blood work and she Needed Iv antibiotics we returned Friday at 6:00 pm we are still sitting here at 9:30 pm in the waiting room 3 hours and they still have not taken her back for antibiotics! There was one person in waiting room when we arrived. And they just keep coming up with new excuses THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE NEW BILLION DOLLAR HOSPITAL. CANNOT HANDLE THIER ER!
If you need an ultrasound I would call before you come to see if they are on schedule. I had one done at Easton as well and they were behind too— definitely call before hand. It’s uncomfortable with a full bladder. The tech Taylor was great and apologetic— she gets a five—
Went to the ER on Sunday, March 5, 2023 and would not even recommend to an enemy. The ER overall had a few people, but not overly busy. We were checked in by an older woman and quickly went to triage... then the waiting game happened. What did we watch happen in the ER? 3 people left without treatment because they were waiting for so long. 1 even commented that they wanted to leave to ensure my child went before them because they could see how miserable they were. I mean who wouldn't be with a fever of OVER 103 with a cough and more? After waiting for 2 1/2 hours, we asked the check-in ladies if there was any update even in regards to the test given to her in triage. We were rudely told to just wait because there aren't beds or doctors to help. The lack of compassion or any emotion was astounding by the younger woman on staff. I'm terribly sorry for interrupting your phone time. We waited another 30 mins just to see, but nothing. My child finally had their appetite back and wasn't about to make them continue waiting since they hardly ate all weekend. I purposely waited until the older woman arrived at the check-in desk again to let them know we were leaving. Didn't want to interrupt the other's phone time. Learned my lesson the first time. The older woman was full of sympathy and understanding as she checked us out. The ONLY reasons for getting the star is the older woman in check-in & the triage nurse. The older woman showed so much compassionate for those waiting ensuring they stayed comfortable, getting blankets, cups of water, vomit bags to those feeling ill, etc. The triage nurse for her understanding of how my child felt so uncomfortable and just wanted me to hold her the entire time. For how transparent she was and her strong communication skills. EDIT: The generic, repetitive response given by the reputation team just shows the amount of care you have for mine and all the other reviews left. You saw 1 star can pushed out a response instead of reading anything left above. Why call if this is the response received? What's the guarantee I'll even be heard by the person on the phone if this is how the reputation team responses when they are suppose to CARE about St. Luke's REPUTATION?
Day 4 of a migraine and my 17 yr old daughter was treated with kindness empathy and compassion. Actually talked to her and not rushed Put both of us at ease Gave her a resolution and what she can do going forward until she sees a specialist
My son and I sat in the ER for over 4 hours. In that time they only took back one patient. There were 36 people in the ER at the point we left and went to Grandview. They were happy to help us. Stay as far from St. Luke's ER as possible.
They need get information and what doing straight . In the mental health area , they don’t know what they’re doing . Crazy mess ! I don’t recommend the emergency room specially in the mental health area ! If there something they don’t like about you emergency room they treat you like an animal! Don’t care at all
When I delivered there first time everyone was very supportive and welcoming and very nice. I never had such good support when i had delivered a baby before. Very happy with the labor and delivery. Thank you for your support.
Somehow not as good as before. Very long wait in ER. Time ran out to get stitches I would have had if they took me sooner. Sat for 4 hrs with my hand held up with ice bag I brought with me before I could be seen. Kept hand up over heart to slow bleeding at least I knew that much myself. Heard other ERS are having the same problems. Not enough help,I guess. But what other choices do we have after 7:00 at night.
