St. Sebastian Catholic School is located in a residential area in the suburban community of Dearborn Heights, drawing from the cities of Allen Park, Brownstown, Canton, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Ecorse, Inkster, Lincoln Park, Livonia, Northville, Redford, Riverview, Southgate, Taylor, Wayne, Westland, and Wyandotte.
A third generation of children is now enjoying the legacy of the faith and family tradition begun by the people of St. Sebastian Catholic Parish in 1952. The Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamburg, New York, have staffed the school from the beginning and continue to serve along with highly qualified lay teachers.
St. Sebastian Catholic School is accredited by the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools. All teachers are State certified and highly qualified. The curriculum covers the core content areas of Reading, English, Literature, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, as well as Religion. The school emphasizes the basic fundamental skills of phonics, cursive handwriting, spelling, public speaking, grammar and composition, computers and keyboarding, while integrating technology into all subject areas. The curriculum is further enriched by providing physical education, art, music, and Spanish classes for Grades 1-8.
Accountability, academic excellence, and a strong work ethic are the norm at St. Sebastian Catholic School. The school participates in the Northwestern University Midwest Academic Talent Search to encourage academically gifted and talented students.
