Corner bar. Homemade lunches are served from 11 AM through 2 PM Mondays through Fridays. Stanley's is closed on weekends.
Stanley’s tavern was established by Stanley and Josephine Kurek, and moved to its current location in 1935. The Kureks started their tavern business in the mid-1920’s and have operated from several locations at or near 43rd Street & Ashland Avenue in Chicago. The business was moved to its fourth, and current, location in 1935.
Wanda Kurek runs Stanley’s day-to-day business along with planning and cooking homemade lunches that are served daily. Wanda joined her parents' business in 1952, and became its sole owner in 1983.
Stanley's is one of the oldest bars in the city of Chicago. Stop by and say hello.
