The screen and sound are awesome. The tickets are a little expensive, but the concessions are way more expensive than the tickets. I spent over $60 on the concessions alone. This is why I usually go to my local movie theater...much cheaper!
We used to love going to this theater, but it is not the same theater I remember. The theater was filthy. When we got to our seats there was a cup lid on the seat, along with lots of popcorn and my armrest was sticky. We were initially excited when we bought our tickets with the app that they offered food delivery to your seat. I decided to take advantage of it, but 20 minutes after the food was supposed to be delivered we went to check. They had tons of tickets sitting there and no one knew what they were supposed to be doing with them. They also had no ice in the soda machines. Overall very disappointed in the environment after spending so much for tickets and food. This happened on 7/28/2023.
Nice theater. You should have some tables and chairs in that big open area. Our Promenade Theater in Sioux City has them. It's great for sitting, munching on popcorn, and waiting for the rest of your people to show. Concession stand was nice and the workers were very friendly. Free refills are great and the bar is a nice touch. Also, you should be able to get to the concessions and bathrooms without having to show a ticket. Again, we were waiting for people and I had all of the tickets. At our theater, people walk in off the street just to buy popcorn. Overall, a nice theater. It could use a couple more touches.
It was a clean and enjoyable place to bring the family to. I would definitely recommend.
Ticket checker had to pause to scan my tickets because he was playing candy crush on his phone. He told me for my 3D glasses I needed to go to the ticket counter. There was a long line and I asked if I had to stand in it. He said I would be fine to go up front and just ask for the glasses. I did as he said and the ticket counter cashier looked at me like I created a mortal sin. I asked her for the glasses to which she huffed about as she gave me my glasses. The snack vendor cashier, however, was absolutely amazing. She talked to my kid and asked if he was excited for the movie. She had great customer service.
The screen is amazing and the sound deafening. Sadly the concessions sizes were small compared to others. And the seating was tight. I will rarely see a movie here.... Because of the environment.
Who in the halibut wants to pay 20 bones for a ticket? Not me. I had to take out a loan to see Barbie. Made me want to snort boba, respectfully. And 16 for a popcorn and drink? Forget it, disrespectfully. The chairs were absolute gas, but they barely reclined. Pathetic. And oh my gosh, that was louder than my wife when I forget to buy eggs. It made me feel like I was made of rubber bands. Don't get me wrong, I love feeling like rubber bands, but not when watching a movie. The movie happened, and nothing of note happened. We left. It was a terrible experience, but that was hardly AMC's fault.
Two words: run down. The only above average experience at this location is the Dolby Cinema. The laser projection quality and sound immersion is truly amazing and worth every penny. Seats in the Dolby cinema are comfy and spacious. Some of the seats have broken recliner controls which is disappointing. IMAX is run down and felt like a regular theater with a different aspect ratio. Seats are worn out and the aisles are so narrow you have to stand up every time someone needs to get past you. The people sitting behind me kept hitting the back of my seat on accident. Sound was pretty good. IMAX is really in need of an update on the projector and seating arrangement. Regular auditoriums have the standard AMC recliners. Some recliners are VERY worn out. There were a few recliners I saw that were peeling so bad you could see the foam underneath. It makes me hesitant to buy seats in these auditoriums for fear of getting one of these seats. They still use old digital projectors which leaves you with a subpar image compared to laser. Sound is good. Concessions are cramped and why is there no pickup option? They only offer seat delivery for advanced concession sales which costs extra. There is no online check-in kiosk. You have to wait in line and have someone manually scan your ticket at the counter. During slow times it’s not horrible, but in peak hours it is really frustrating. Overall, definitely get Dolby Cinema if available. It’s not even a debate. The place really needs to upgrade to laser projection in all the auditoriums. Seats that are falling apart need to be replaced. In a world where your phone is 4k and offering striking colors, the old projectors are definitely showing their age… and have been for the past few years.
8/9/2023 This place was dirty, overpriced, and the staff wasn't very friendly. The theater we were in had a glass wall, the top of which, intruded along the bottom of the screen. The glass wall had no discernable function. The restroom was missing soap in one dispenser and paper towels from its dispenser. Two stars
Mom n dad date night. Brooks was the highlight of our movie experience. He was down to earth chill dude.
