The Stars and Stripes Museum Library, located in Bloomfield, Missouri, is the official and only museum dedicated to preserving the United States military newspaper, the Stars and Stripes. The museum's exhibits help tell the newspaper’s story. The library has bound volumes of all World War I issues and many World II issues. There are over 30,000 newspapers in our collection from the original 1861 Stars and Stripes to present. There are also microfilm issues of the newspaper.
The National Stars and Stripes Museum and Library is a non-profit educational institution dedicated to documenting, collecting, and preserving materials related to the creation and continued history of the Stars and Stripes military newspaper. By preserving and interpreting the Stars and Stripes and making its archives available, the museum and library seek to enhance the public’s understanding and appreciation of the military’s role in national and world history.
