I have been a member since gold's gym had first opened. There are many members that are like gym family. With the transition to Staunton health and fitness it still feels the same. I love this gym! It has the best up to date cardio equipment and weight machines. The members are friendly and motivated. The staff and management are super friendly and always helpful. The gym and kids place are always clean!! No complaints here...
I have been a member here since January 2015, this gym has a lot to offer, great equipment, clean, friendly staff and great rates, definitely the best gym in the area. I have had absolutely amazing results working with a personal trainer at this facility The Alexander twins, Lauren has taught me so much and genuinely cares about my results. I am in the best shape of my life, I recommend this gym and the trainers to anyone who is looking to get in shape.
If you are looking for a professional and clean gym this is not it. I have been a member here for over two years. It was a wonderful gym when I first joined but after the new owner bought it that is when everything went down hill. The gym is quite dirty, there is chalk and leaves all over the floor in the weight sections. A lot of the equipment is broken. Specifically the assisted squat machines that has been broken for over 4 months!!! Light bulbs are constantly out and they are constantly changing there cancellation policy. Since September 2016 they have changed their cancellation policy 3 times so members who want to cancel were told something different when they signed up then when they come into cancel. My advice go to the a different gym that you will get your money's worth.
I have been a member of this gym since they have been opened! Orginally Golds Gym Group fitness classes are amazing with amazing instructors! Also, There personal training with Erin and Lauren are amazing also! These girls get your heart rate up plus weight train at the same time. This gym really cares about there members!
This place is OUTSTANDING!!!!! I have been using fitness facilities for over 40 years and Staunton Health and Fitness is by far the best. Examples: 1. Friendly staff that go out of their way to make you feel welcome regardless of your sex, age or shape. 2. They don't nickel and dime you to death for everything. If you want nutritional advice, just ask. 3. No constant sales pitch for the latest and greatest gimmick that might make you uncomfortable. 4. The place is clean and sanitary. It's the only fitness facility I have seen where you can actually watch the cleaning staff making sure the facility is in tip top shape. 5. A great bargain! The facility is huge 3-5 times larger than the other locations I have used. 6. The classes are wonderful. 7. The price is right. Hands down, the best value in our area. 8. I could go on but you get the picture. Do yourself, friends and family a favor and go check it out.
PLEASE DONT JOIN THIS GYM!! I had join this gym when it was gold's gym and to say the least it was worth it, but now it is TERRIBLE! the lady who is the manager/owner does not have any respect for people that have been loyal to the gym. Also they force you to pay for an extra month if you want to cancel without CONTRACT. JOIN YMCA or another gym if you want to pay for a gym that is worth your time.
I was originally told when I signed up if I wanted to cancel my membership it would be a $35 fee, but nothing else. I called to cancel, as I was still a member of Augusta Health's gym and decided to spend all my time there, not to mention I will be moving eventually. My debit card had also expired, so the gym had already left me a message asking for me to update my card. After speaking with the receptionist, I told her I wanted to update my card to pay for the month, and then pay the cancellation fee to cancel my membership. After my card was updated, she asked me my reason for cancelling, to which I explained to her the above. At that point she said I would not be able to cancel because I would not be moving far enough away. I asked her what that had to do with it because I had believed that was besides the point, and she told me it was a requirement of cancellation that I would have to move a certain distance I believe more than 35 miles. I asked her if I could please speak to a manager. Once I was talking to the manager I did not get her name, but it was during the daylight shift I told her that during my orientation when I signed the contract, that the employee had told me ONLY about the $35 cancellation fee, and had never mentioned any other stipulations. The manager practically stated that I can't prove that in which case I would have to be lying, and I would be unable to cancel. After some back and forth discussion, I explained to her that if I had been told about the moving stipulation, then why would I have not SIMPLY lied and given her my families address out of state. Better yet, why would I even give her my updated information for my debit card? Any logical professional would be able to deduce that I was not lying, as I had ample ability and opportunity to. She was rude, and borderline unprofessional from a customer service perspective. I asked her to talk to her one up supervisor, to which she told me she was the manager of the gym and there was no one above her. I told her I would like to speak to the owner then, to which she replied that she would get with the owner and have them call me. I DID NOT receive a follow up phone call. My experience in the gym itself was fine, but the reaction and ensuing handling of my case was and is continuing to be a very very bad experience. I will be posting reviews across multiple platforms, including social media and word of mouth to anyone that I suggest gyms to about my experience I have waited two months now on a follow up phone call. I DO NOT CARE about $25 a month, that amount of money does not mean anything to me per month, and I have never written a complaint before. At this point I am upset based on the way I was treated as a customer, how my complaint was dismissed with no follow up, and the principle that I was told something at orientation different from what the contract actually states, which falsely led me to believe something other than the truth. My own mistake for not reading the fine print, and believing the employee, but the employee shares in responsibility of the mistake whether the manager has the character to acknowledge that or not. I will continue to pay the $25 a month, and will not do a stop payment, but I will do so feeling unjustified in the situation. I will state that the gym will struggle as a company in a business that relies on strong customer service unless they treat customers with more respect, which is my primary grievance to this entire situation. I would at this point in time suggest to anyone to spend a little more on AHC for excellent customer service and amazing facilities, I have always been treated with respect by their staff.
I've been a member at this gym since it opened. I have never seen it run so smoothly. It is hands down the best gym that I've ever attended. It has everything that I need and more. Thanks for everything you guys do for us members.
Recently rejoined after a 4 year hiatus. Excellent facility. The dues are very reasonable, the staff is courteous, the place is very clean, and fellow members are very friendly. I highly recommend this gym!
Great staff! Best group fitness classes in the Valley. Has the right atmosphere to reach your fitness goals!
