I am a parent of 2 students that attend this school. Principal Kirby has turned this school around for the better. The football program is all about hard work and helping these young men become great husbands and fathers someday. Coach Campbell is a class act and teaches the players and his students how to succeed after high school. With continued support, funding and parent participation, Stayton is in the works of becoming a school to be proud of. There were a lot of thing added with the bond that finally passed. Let's pass another one, with more money, and make a change. Everybody complains, but there are few that will actually step up and make a difference. Our children are worth the sacrifices.
well i graduated from SHS in 2003. but i only attended the freshman year and senior years since i moved around alot when i was a kid. the schools i whent to i would consider to be beter, but not by much. lebonon and gold beech highs were good schools. lebenon was definetly a great school. big but the teachers were great. SHS staff seemed to me to be distant and unhappy with their students. I also agree with one other review, saying "the wood and welder shops seemed to be looked down on. and the sport programs were hailed. the school has alot of "clicks" at least it did when i was there. studdents stayed with their own freinds and didint converce with other clicks to much. i dont know if thats the way the school now, but i wouldint dout it. overall i thingk the school should only get a 1 maby a 2 star raiting from my stay. i hope its gotten better for the kids sakes.
Are you kidding me? There are 2 reviews here that I can hardly read. Neither authors obviously learned how to write. Wow, I sure hope those aren't an example of what comes out of SHS. I graduated from Stayton in '91; we currently have 2 kids in school there now. It is a much better school now than what it was then. Sad that they are still in the same building and using the same facilities as the worn out ones that we had to use 20+ years ago but that is Stayton for you.
What an awful school. Talk about a sham operation. Worst football team also. Don't believe me? Ask a Stayton graduate at any local gas station! They all work there!
Went here as a kid, staff was caring and nice, had plenty of after school things to do too, learned a lot
