Steffy Home Furnishings in Mt. Vernon Illinois has roots that date back to the 1920's when it began as Mitchell Furniture Company. The business was purchased by Bill Steffy in 1962. In 1968 Steffys moved into the old Montgomery Ward building on the south side of the square where Steffys became a fixture in downtown Mt. Vernon until the devastating fire in 1996 that destroyed the entire block.. The business operated out of the Times Square mall while its current building at 700 S 42nd Street was constructed. The present owners are Bob and John Steffy. Steffys has steadily grown over the past 54 years and enjoys an excellent reputation all over Southern Illinois. We offer a huge selection, great prices and service before and after the sale. Several of Steffy's employees have over 35 years experience in the furniture business.
