I have never been in a Stein Mart and had little time to look around. It seems like they offer a nice selection of items at fair prices. I bought two cotton quilts that look fabulous and spent under $70!
A lot of super cute Christmas items at very reasonable prices!! The sale items for men's clothing was also quite reasonable!! I'm not giving this particular Stein Mart a 5 star rating because most of the employees seem to care less about the customers! Two ladies were much more concerned about gossiping about a friend of theirs. I can assure those employees that customers can heat their conversation, and really don't care, nor want to hear their gossip! But, I can say, a very nice lady was at the register when I was ready to check out. She did a great job and was a pleasure to be around!
I drove 50 miles to pick up a sweater that was on hold for me the sweater at the store near me had a hole in it. The clerk hands me the sweater and there was an obvious hole in this one too! Right on the front! She tried to hide it with her finger. I asked for a discount. The manager had to come over. The offer was $4 off a $40 sweater. Their attitude was "oh, too bad you drove all that way." Not loving this store right now. Keep your sweater.
Stein Mart is always great. Such unique and fun things, and always great deals! I'm deducting a star because I wasn't greeted when I walked in, even though a woman was standing at the register without a customer in line. When I went to check out, I was the one that initiated conversation and asked how she was doing, because I'm a nice human being. I worked for Stein Mart for four years back in the day, and that sort of "customer service" behavior wouldn't have been tolerated by my management. But also, it's just common courtesy to greet people when they walk into your establishment. Don't worry, I'll still shop there... but I like feeling like my business is wanted/appreciated.
I used to love Steinmart but the past year, they have changed. The customer is no longer important to them and they make it difficult to give you even the slightest break. If you leave your coupon at home, forget getting the discount. If you see an item on sale that you just bought the day before, they give you a hard time about returning it so you can re-purchase it for the sale price. The new manager makes it clear he doesn't care about the customer, only how much money he can extract from you. Times aren't exactly good for a consumer who is on a budget, and trying to save money when buying something you need is not their priority anymore. Prices have also gone up, although bargains can still be found if you're wealthy or snobbish enough to only buy designer clothing. I will be changing my business to Belks now, who has become just the opposite of the negatives I just mentioned. Belks will go to extremes to give their customers a break. I am so disappointed that Steinmart has lost touch with helping the people who keep them in business. It's their loss.
Took gift received back for store credit.. They only gave me half price because they were having a red dot sale. Same story every time I've made a return. Not very friendly.
I didn't know they mostly did clothes here. But I love it! As a man looking for someplace in Hendo with quality clothes shopping with name brands at sale prices, I'm all in!
Great sales at Stein Mart especially if you have coupons which are available online. Top name clothes at good prices ,& the coupons. Nice to find someone different....
A good selection of quality clothing and the workers are very helpful. They are a bit pricey for me $$$, unless you catch a sell. Then they're very affordable $.
