Always something going on. We love summer in abilene because the park and grounds often have some kind of fair or activity. The free fair is fantastic. Not the biggest fair ever, but it is free! The rodeo is great and really pretty good sized. The demolition derby is great! My kids love it. The gun shows that are here a couple times a year are really small, but interesting. You get some small collectors with really unique collections.
Has everything a fair should have. 4 -H and FFA kids with plenty of livestock, most all 4-H projects on display, Food, 4 nights of rodeo, Demo derby, and commercial exhibit.
Great place to work with on a wedding reception. Large hall, easy access, great A/C for a July wedding.
One of the best fairs in the country and you don't have to pay to see the displays of local talent.
Very nice fairgrounds and the hall we had the Greyhound event in was very accommodating.
Grrat place to hold a rabbit show, 3 rest rooms, a kitchen, a lunch room and a small stage!
Very clean place and the kids enjoyed showing at their livestock show.
