Steve's Deli Dog House & Catering of Janesville

I heard Steve's had the best gyro on town. They did not disappoint. The variety of hot dogs, Italian beefs and of course GYROS!!! This place place is great!!

Great little hometown dive to get a quick bite. Walking in the door you get hit with an array of different smells and flavors. Staff is very friendly! Price is very reasonable for what you get. I got the puppy bag 2 hot dogs, fries and a soda for 9 bucks or somewhere in there. Went during the lunch hour and had a wait a little while to get my food but it was hot and fresh. Will definitely be back!

Great food, my only complaint is that some of the people who work there need to try to pay more attention to what the customer is explaining. I was there with my friend and the person willing my order had made a mistake with my order, I had them correct it but I was trying to tell the worker that I would take the mistake so they didn't waist it. But that person was not interested in paying attention to anything I had to say. So I think next time I go to eat there I will pay more attention to who is working there and if it is someone who I see is not paying attention to the customer then I will find a new place to go to eat. Customer service is important to me and I will continue to be that picky about who I deal with and who I don't. But overall I like the food

Second time getting food here. My first experience was bad so I thought I'd give it another chance. Tried ordering online only to get an email saying they didn't accept my order. I called and they said that happens. The lady who took my order sounded like I was bothering her. I should have taken the hint. So my order comes after an hour and the delivery guy pulls my order out of an old thermal type bag for kids snacks, not one made for food delivery. All the food was cold. I only live a mile away. The hot dogs themselves were dry but the buns were wet. Seriously wet. The beef sandwiches were dry. The menu said the beef came with cheese. There was no cheese. I've read through the reviews and I cannot understand how anyone who grew up in Chicago thinks it compares. If it was much less expensive I would have said that I got what I paid for. I did not get what I paid for.

One of those diamonds in the ruff that only locals know about. Its very small only about 5 tables inside and a few outside if the weather is nice. If your taking it with this won't be a problem otherwise you may have to get there before noon on weekdays to get a seat. They have tremendous roast beef and bags of terrific fries. Of course hot-dogs are their namesake. So good I've driven 45 minutes out of my way just to have one of their beef sandwiches.

I love eating here. It's one of my favorite stops when I'm feeling a Chicago dog. They also have other menu options that are good. Still havent tried the Reuben dog yet though. Appetizers, beef n cheese sandwiches. I could keep listing off all the goodies here but I'll let you figure it out for yourself. The only reason this isnt a 5 star review is that the other day I decided to eat here. First time since living back in janesville. The service kind of sucked because the girl working there was the only one and she seemed slammed with orders. Also she had burnt the fries to a crisp. So I guess that's on the management. Get another person in there working so you food stays at the quality I remember it. Still love this place though...

Meh.... The dogs were very very small. Chicken strips are frozen and processed garbage. The lettuce on the salad was half frozen with the core included and the grilled chicken on it was mostly grizzle. I had higher expectations for a place with over 4 stars. Will not be back.

Kind of let down by what I just ordered.. First I will start by saying the staff was friendly and the service was great. But the italian beef sandwich I ordered was very mediocre to put it as nicely as possible. The sandwich itself was luke warm at best, the cheese on it was nowhere even close to being remotely melted. To say the meat was dry would be an extreme understatement, would not recommend this selection to anybody needing an italian beef fix Not mad, but definitely let down

This place has the best food in Janesville. a bonus is the fries are freshly cut. My favorite is the chili cheese dog, it’s sooo good! I totally recommend!! Support local :

Been going here forever. Have ordered food ti be delivered at 8 o clock at my work before, buy they all of a sudden wanna start telling me that the delivery had to be delivered at 7:45pm. Hope delivery likes waiting 15 mins outside. Till i get 8 o clock break. This is an easy way to lose costumers. Doing something one time. Then changing your minds for next time. Good food, but not worth a hassle.
