Stevenson, Waplak & Associates is a private group of mental health care professionals representing the disciplines of Psychology, Social Work, Psychiatry, Medicine and Counselling. We provide counseling and assessment services and consultative services to Individuals and Couples, Children and Teens, Families and Groups, and Corporations.
At Quinte Children’s Homes, we offer children and families a confidential and safe environment to learn the necessary skills to manage. Quinte Children’s Homes began building its team of residential and mental health professionals in 1999. Through SWA, Children and families are offered a dedicated staff with specialized experience and designations in Psychiatry, Psychology, Counseling, Psychometry and Social Work. Quinte Children’s Homes manages 35 Parent Therapy Homes/Treatment Foster Care Homes, providing professional parenting and treatment to 80 young people of whom approximately 75% are children and youth receiving care within their own community.
Applewood Academy for Progressive Learning recognizes that in Ontario, approximately 18% of children aged 6 to 15 years of age have a psychiatric disorder. These children’s emotional and academic needs, along with their support requirements are taxing the resources of the public education system and the safe school policies have led to a disproportionate number of suspensions and expulsions for these children.
With such issues in mind, Applewood Academy for Progressive Learning was born. A unique educational alternative, Applewood Academy for Progressive Learning is a treatment oriented, academic program to help meet the needs of these students and their families. The program offers significant clinical support to address treatment needs related to emotional, behavioural and educational difficulties.
