Been going to Stoddards since I was a little kid and they were in a different building. Awesome place, awesome selection, owner is very knowledgeable, and his little dog that comes to work with him is the most adorable and loveable thing with four legs. In nearly 20 years I've got fish, birds, 2 dogs, a cat, a guinea pig, several hamsters, and many others I am probably forgetting about and all were very healthy and lived very long lives. Support independent pet stores and avoid places like Petco and Petsmart.
about a year ago, I had went there to look at the puppies and let me tell you. They should not have puppies nor should they even be open to the public. I had brought my dog and you can tell that he was beaten and not cared for. The poor puppies were sitting and laying in there own poop and pee. When i got home i gave the dog a bath he didn't even know how to react to that. Then the next day i took them to the vet. They had asked me if the dog has had any shot's i gave them the paper with all the information on and they did a test to see and what do you know the poor dog never had his shot's nor have been to the vet. So they are liars sure in the heck doesn't need to be open to the public. They even gave me papers to the dog and when i had called about getting the papers they said that they are fake papers and that the dog doesn't even come up in there system. Which if you are going to cheat someone something don't give them papers or anything. So about a few months later we had went back in there to see if anything has changed, heck no, they are completely rude they dont know how to treat customers and I had asked an older man a question he did not even want to talk to me and told me " why dont you go and asked someone else" I got super mad and me and my husband walked out. The fish tanks look worst than a swamp.
This place has all the things needed all the time and they know what they are doing and talking about.....Definitely beats Petco where you go in there and some high school or college degenerate is trying to tell you things they think they know and feed ya a bunch of crap.....Also, for the previous review,...A domesticated Rat??? anyone who wants to go in and start petting and cuddling with rats is disgusting...wtf. I feed ALL RATS to snakes or just terminate them myself!!!!!!
Spoke with the owner, or someone pretending to be the owner today. Literally the only question I asked was for their name and they blew a whistle in my ear as loud as they could. Extremely rude. Luckily the volume was down on my phone and it didn't even phase me. I've heard awful things about this shop anyways, so I am glad that they proved it to me on the phone today. Save yourself and look for a shop with a little more professionalism.
