Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park is JCPRD's 79-acre park located in Overland Park, Kansas. The park's maintenance and development are fee supported through adult softball and youth soccer leagues. The park consists of seven athletic playing fields that require reservations, a small pond, a seven acre dog off-leash area, picnic shelter, playground and a picturesque walking trail.
The development of this beautiful park utilized a unique combination of funding sources. The parkland was purchased in 1971 with Land and Water Conservation Funds from the U.S. Department of Interior and was matched by the District with local financing. The park was dedicated in 1981 and named in honor of Thomas S. Stoll who was instrumental in the park's development and had died the previous year while serving as chairman of the District’s Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners.
Dog Off-Leash Area
The seven acre off-leash area is located near the center of the park. The flat, open space is fenced and equipped with ample parking. For the enjoyment of all patrons and pets, the District's Off-Leash Area Code of Conduct/Rules apply.
Please note that between March 15 and November 15 there are weekly maintenance closures. During that period, maintenance is scheduled every Wednesday from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The closures are intended to allow for a higher level of maintenance to the area without compromising dog and patron safety. Trespassing is prohibited when the gate is locked.
JCPRD has a total of four dog parks. The other off-leash areas are located in Shawnee Mission Park, Heritage Park and Kill Creek Streamway (at the 95th Street access point). Each off-leash area is an enclosed, fenced area.
