Description

The Story of Stone Soup
Once upon a time, there was a village and it was a very nice place to live except for one thing. People did not like to share. One day a visitor came to town. "Does any one have any food to share? I am really hungry for I have been traveling all day." "No!" they all said. "That’s OK, because I will make stone soup for everyone." He took a large stone and dropped it into a giant pot of boiling water. "Mmmm, I love stone soup, but stone soup with cabbage is truly delicious. Does any one have a cabbage?" That gave one man in the village an idea. He put his cabbage into the pot. Then a little boy got some carrots and put them into the pot. And then a little girl put an onion into the pot. And soon everyone was adding something to the delicious stone soup. "This soup will be delicious" said the visitor. The soup cooked and cooked and finally it was done. Everyone in the village had a big bowl of soup. "This is truly delicious" they all said. The soup made everyone in the village happy. From then on, the people in the village shared and their favorite thing to do was to share stone soup. The moral is that by working together, with everyone contributing what they can, a greater good is achieved.

Mission

What is a Food Pantry?
A food pantry serves as a distributor of food on behalf of its partners and agencies. Many donations come to food pantries because of shifts in the market such as misprints, damage in freight, over production and community food drives. Once food arrives at the facility it is sorted, inspected and made available to our distribution partner network which then is provided at no cost to the recipients.
