If this place had a plumbed restroom I would give it 5 stars. The location is stunning, the creek is shallow and clean, the playset is well maintained with a good layer of mulch, and there's a pavilion with lots of tables. There's also a baseball diamond, basketball courts, and tennis courts that seemed nice as we passed them but I did not inspect them up close. Definitely a location we'll come back to.
I am so glad that I found this little gem of a park. It's a little bit past William Byrd High school, hidden away in a quiet neighborhood. There's trees all around the playground to protect my kiddos from the harsh sun. If you walk down the path a little bit you will find a small stream that's perfect for your kids to play in! While my daughter was splashing around in the stream a deer came out of no where and just nonchalantly walked by. Very quiet, very clean. I absolutely love this park.
Wonderful place to take the family, just watch the road in some spots to make sure the little ones stay safe!
Standard fare park. Tennis courts are in good shape. Playground and access the nature path. * Still accurate as of 7/23
My nephew loves this park! It's not too busy to where its stressful to take the kids to the park. The park has a playground, basketball court, tennis court, trails to walk, a little creek flowing by, and all kinds of cool stuff! Great spot to go to take your kids out for a bunch of different activities!
Great shaded park with playground, trail, creek, and a picnic area.
Nice park, intersects with the Wolf Creek Greenway walking trail. Wolf Creek runs at the back of it. Nice clean picnic shelter with good maintenance no splinters, trash not overflowing, etc Playground with equipment for the kiddos. Easy access from the Parkway or 24. Picnic shelter had tables and grills. Tranquil atmosphere. Paved parking. Entrance is inside of a subdivision off of Stonebridge Rd. just west of the Parkway on 24.
Attended a my granson's birthday party there and had a great time. The trees provided lots of shade, the sheltor was very clean and the port ajohn actually smelled clean. Enjoyed the creek with the children and the trail was the perfect length for my age.
Great shaded playground! Fun area to play a little in the woods too. Walking path very close by also.
This is a small children's park along a bike/walking/running trail. Likely associated with the Roanoke Greenway system. I was there as a volunteer picking up trash and debris and such. As parks go, this one seemed a bit underutilized but maybe that's a good thing if you have small children.
