Story Land

Description

Story Land is a theme park located in Glen, New Hampshire. In the few years prior to opening, the founders, Bob and Ruth Morrell, had purchased a large number of dolls from Germany based on storybook characters. This was the basis for the park. When it opened, it had just one ride: an old fire truck. By the end of the 20th century, the park spanned some 35acre and had over 20 rides.Story Land was operated by the family-owned Morrell Corporation from 1954 to 2007. After Stoney Morrell, son of the original owners, died, the park was sold to the Kennywood Entertainment Company. Kennywood was in turn bought by Parques Reunidos the following year. In 2009, it was placed under Parques Reunidos' American division, Palace Entertainment.

We had an awesome day! I thought it would be boring but my daughter 6 and I had a great time, so much to do. We went to Disney last year and I'll tell you that it wasn't this exciting. Perfect for children between ages 3 - 10. If you have older kids that like to entertain their younger siblings I'm sure they'll like it to. I would highly recommend this place. Plenty of places to seat around for grandparents that want to tag along. Picnic areas and places to buy drinks, food and snacks. They literally have restrooms every corner you turn. Slushy was pretty good and so is the fry dough. It may be a good idea to buy the refillable cups. If you're thinking about visiting Storyland go for it, it is a great experience for the little ones.
So much fun, lots of stuff to do for all age groups. We have a 1.5 year old, a 4 year old and an 8 year old, and they all had a blast! We did too! I LOVE that they have so many misting tents through out the park to help with cool downs. Staff was all soooo friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Wish there was more time in the day to have done every thing. Will definitely be back. Thinking of even getting season passes for next summer.
This is a fun place to take the kids for the day, rides are suitable for most children and the park seemed clean for the most part. The eating area can use a little more attention as majority of tables were dirty and trashes were full. The ride attendees were very friendly and when there wasn't anyone in line they would ask if we wanted to go again. Beware of the Turtle ride, pretty aggressive spinning ! Definitely will take the family here again !
I have been coming here for the past 25 years. My parents brought me and now I bring my daughter. They have updated the park since and all for the better still have the classics like the geysers and Panda flume. Tons of food and drink options. There is a small water park area as well as a few water rides that you and the kids can get soaked in. I suggest wearing clothing that dries quickly, bringing extra clothes I kept most in the car to change into after and brought in a pair of shorts and undies to swap off the little one to prevent chaffing. Wear good shoes the whole of story land is very big. Lots of walking that can also handle some water or bring water shoes to wear while in the water areas. If you plan on going more than once or twice in a year, get the season pass. Then you get discounts on food, drink and merchandise as well. There is free parking. The lot across the street. There's underground walkway so you don't have to cross the street on foot. *Note* There is the new Living Shores aquarium next door. They share the parking lots. On certain season passes you also get a discounted entry to the aquarium, which is open all year long. Story land does close for the winter, early October this year.
Storyland was a 2 hour plus drive for me but found it magical. Watched my 8 and 3 year old grandchildren just relish stepping into the old favorite stories. Old lady who lived in the shoe was so kind to my grandson that he stopped crying when she spoke. Cinderella was lovely and so believably a princess. Plenty of places to rest for this grandmother and get cooled off in water areas. I completely forgot my age while shooting water cannons at my son in law!! Beautiful place, rides for all ages.
Great place to take the kids. The staff are awesome. A little pricey if you are buying food on site. There is a picnic site so you can choose to bring a basket Overall there is something for everyone, kids or adults.
Absolutely soul crushing that the Mine wasn’t open for my first visit back since childhood with my small child, HOWEVER I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place! Spotless. But most importantly, EVERY single employee here was the nicest person! We were blown away by everyone especially Cinderella and our pal Dylan running the safari ride! Everyone was absolutely amazing to us, the place was spotless, and we didn’t stop moving until they literally shut the park down! We will be back and I hope the mines will be too!!
We loved it here. Very family friendly and easy to get around. We loved how many family bathrooms and feeding rooms there was. We also loved that they had a pet area for animals so they are not in a hot car. Our son had a blast and we will be visiting again.
Story land is great for kids ages 4-8. There are rides for all age levels and plenty of fun characters to talk about. We enjoyed taking the train around and seeing Cinderella in her castle. My one complaint is the food choices. We went in early October and almost all of the food options were already shut down for the season. I recommend packing a snack of your own to avoid the high food prices!
Clean, cute, classic small New England theme park. My oldest child age 9 felt a little bit too old for the full magic of this place, but my almost 7 year old really had an amazing time. They loved the train ride so much, they rode it three times. The workers are super friendly. Expect to pay theme park prices for food and drinks, but they aren't too outrageous compared to one of the "big" theme parks.
