Small but very nice museum! I loved the history portion the most, so many interesting things put into perspective. Would def love to come back on our next visit for that under water exhibit thats under construction!
I bet this could have been a five-star experience if I had watched something else than what we had elected to watch. Can't Blame the planetarium but I guess I'll have to take away one star for the computer animated dinosaur movie we saw. The girl in the movie was super annoying and disrespectful towards her father . I believe her name was Lucy . Also I would probably not take away a star if it weren't for the fact that we had a fly buzzing around on the camera lens which created a gigantic 6 to 10 ft annoying fly shadow on the ceiling projection. Besides that I think this place would be amazing for a space type movie which is how it was originally designed. I'm definitely going to go back and try that and I'll adjust Stars accordingly. Just hoping for no flies and no computer animated dinosaurs
First time here and it was amazing! We went to the Holiday Laser Show. Classic Christmas tunes both instrumental and lyrical were synchronized with beautiful laser displays. Seating was comfortable and socially distanced. Fantastic kick off to the holidays!
I have not visited a planetarium for 30 years until now. There are several shows available, I choose the Radiohead laser light show. This show was amazing, I was blown away by what is possible with projectors and lasers. The images appeared to be 3-D and the way the images change shape and colors will blow you mind. This is a family friendly experience for all ages. The chairs are super comfortable and recline so you're not straining your neck to look up. I highly recommend if you're in the area.
I enjoyed the night sky tonight show. The presenter was wonderful! It was nice to learn. 12/30/19: the holiday light show was spectacular.
The Pink Floyd laser light show was awesome! You can't beat $10 tickets for an hour of great music and cool light effects. Lasers, video, smoke machines, and great sound. Loud, of course. Adjustable seats that can be moved around to accommodate groups. Sit near the entrance when possible, at the "back". Free parking.
Poor quality old planet images. Zeiss machine no longer works. Night sky stars were fuzzy. Lecture too abstract. My kids were bored. Could not comprehend the adult level lecture. You get what you play for, but there must be better than this for Rochester.
Such a fun time. We go to the "Sky Tonight" shows with the kids and they have a blast every time.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
A couple years ago, you featured a Kodak telescope that was a secret project that was launched in space. While the display is still there, the picture of the employees that worked on it is gone. In that picture was my Father, I was excited to take my grandchildren to show them what their great grandfather worked on and to show them a face they have never seen. I was very disappointed when I saw the picture was taken out. History fades but picture’s are forever, for the sake of other families of loved ones who worked on that project, please put the picture back on the display. The visit would have been a 5 but I went away disappointed.
Love going to laser shows here. They are very affordable and are constantly rotating different shows. They even have a holiday themed laser show which I loved so much I went to twice during the holiday season.
