It was a small but very cute room the beds could have used a more comfortable bed protector an they could have cleaned the bathtub a little better bc there was still dried bubbles from the last person that stayed before us an there towels we're a dingy white there was a hair on the sink an in the tub but it was a clean room an it was very quiet I would stay again. I work in a hotel there for I know how clean the bathroom is supposed to be but we did enjoy our stay..
Its dirty. Filled with cockroaches, no hot water in the shower. The beds don't even have real mattresses on them, and they sink into the box spring from where people sat. They don't even put fitted sheets on their beds when they make them, they lay just a flat sheet. And I've been here for almost 5 days now and housekeeping hasn't knocked on my door once. I'm going to have to call down to the front desk if I want my room cleaned, or I just keep cleaning it myself. But part of the joy of staying in a hotel is haveing someone to clean up for you, right? Well not here. I wouldn't recommend ANYONE to come here. Not even my worst enemy. You truly get what you pay for.
I really love sleeping with the roaches it was so relaxing and comforting. the best part of this hotel is it looks like someone was murdered in my room it seems like you're in a Halloween themed Hotel. the beds were accidentally wrapped in plastic and felt like they were a hundred years old. If I were to come here again I definitely would just sleep in my car. Because there is no way in hell I would ever pay any kind of money for this place. The unfortunate part is I'm a truck driver and the Super 8 across the street was booked up if you can go there that's the best place to go.
Wish I could give it zero stars. This entire building needs to be condemned! Everything is disgusting, a serious health hazard. The carpets and mattresses are stained and stinky, the walls are peeling and broken, this is a place where people stay for weeks, months, even years, and trash the place. There are cigarette butts everywhere and the entire building reeks of stale, rotting cigarette smoke. I was offered to buy drugs twice also asked if I had any. The staff are nice however, it's obvious the owners don't care about anything here. When I told the cleaning lady "no offense, but I'm never staying here again", she gave a sympathetic smile and said she hears that a lot and doesn't blame me. I'm seriously considering calling the health department about this place, it's very very unsanitary and probably dangerous to people's health. Walk in the front lobby and you'll see what I'm saying. :
For the BAR and not roomsnever stayed here. Good bar, fantastic pizza, great music when they play, also very clean. Let me just say this is the most reasonable priced bar I've seen in St Louis that is not trash. I was told they updated the bar recently so maybe that's why it's good quality for the money.
OMG, I've seen homeless people living in better conditions. We rented 3 rooms for this 1 night of desperation after trying to find a place to stay for over 2 hours. Where do I begin? First thing you notice after leaving the lobby is the pungent odor of marijuana some hallways stronger than others. Then the extremely worn carpet in the hallways. Now off to the rooms, carpets are worn and very stained, walls have wallpaper peeling off, cracks and holes. The beds we had where hospital cots. There was mold growing in the bath rooms and towels where stained or dirty. I used a hand towel to dry off from my shower so my girl friend could use the only clean towel. There was 2 of the rooms that smelt raw sewage. We watched at least 5 drug deals take place from our balcony in the parking lot. The lowest rating I could give this place was a 1 but quite frankly it doesn't even deserve that. Stay far far away!! Maybe the police department with read this and shut this dump down.
This place has gone to hell. I remember staying here back in 2001. I had just finished my freshman year of college. We all had to be moved out of the dorms so the friends I made and I decided to get a room here and have a good bye party. It was a blast! I'm sure if the rooms we were staying in looked like they do now we wouldn't of stayed there. The Stratford Inn is now a home for the homeless on a weekly basis and I'm sure that is a factor when it comes to the cleanliness... Housekeeping can't thoroughly clean the rooms daily. But they should be cleaned and maintenance done when the rooms are finally vacant! Travelers just stay away. There's nicer places around the same price.
Decent size room , water pressure great , cable had weather channel , washer and dryer good. It's a weekly rate place and fair overall , however I asked if I could be refunded if I didn't stay the full week ? I was assured at check in YES ! Very disappointed that I wasn't able to back 2 days that I paid for = $80.
Used to go to the bar many years ago. It was fine. But....... we stayed there in January. OMG ! It was the worst room I ever had IN MY LIFE. It was as bad as the Captain Obvious commercial where they find a finger in the room. It looked like a crime scene and smelled like a morgue. If you need to live dangerously and have a belt mounted Lysol dispenser, knock yourself out. Staff was nice though and cheap, thus the second star.
It is not The Hyatt... Walls are thin and you hear other guests. That said, I've stayed as an overnight guest twice and my room was clean. Fridge, microwave. Cable. Key card. The front desk is extremely polite. I won't hesitate to stay here at any time. The price is awesome.
