Track 3 is on the StationHouse restaurant side of the station. This is typically where trains heading towards Grand Central will stop. Track 4 is on the Helicopter Museum side of the station. Typically trains going towards New Haven will stop here. This is a shorter Metro-North platform - not all cars will open at the station. This doesn’t matter if you’re getting on a train at Stratford. If you’re getting off here, listen for conductor announcements for where you need to be.
Absolutely never any parking for the average joe. I go to the city, once or twice every 2 months. I alway have to park in a spot where I get a ticket because all the others are filled. The parking attenant said... oh, u can try across the street on the two one-way roads. But those are always full too. I don't think I should have to pay a ticket when there is not enough parking.
Stratford is hands down the easiest metro north station to get to from the northwest corner. Pretty much just a straight shot down route 8. Don't expect much for amenities though. There is a restaurant and a coffee shop, however they aren't always open.
Very disappointing. I own a handicap sticker , parked there and when I arrived at night. Had a ticket , cause apparently you can't park there in a handicap space for long. What's the sense of having handicap spaces. Smh. Rather go to fairfield even if it's farther.
Stratford is very quiet...most of the times we have to go to Yale New Haven or Bridgeport for dining out.
At busy times. No cops to help with people double or triple parking and blocking people. If you can stay away from the NYC incoming side. Even when police are there, cars still block you and they do nothing
the staff at the little coffee shop were so nice and it was a nice place to wait for a train
Well,it's exciting though, the way the system works, it isn't perfect but it's satisfactorily done,hence the need for improvement always !!
The area is constantly patrolled by the local PD making people feel safe.
Should post some sort of update of which side to be on.. No information on which train goes where.
