The StretchPilates.Fit experience offers an intimate atmosphere, small class sizes, and a personable experience where you will truly shine! StretchPilates.Fit provides a full line of Balance Body equipment including reformers, pilates chairs and arc barrels gives great variety to your work out.The StretchPilates.Fit studio provides a relaxing environment while you experience a more personalized class with reformers. StretchPilates.Fit now offers Active Isolated Stretching!

PILATES FOR BEGINNERS
Pilates demands intense focus. This is not easy, but in pilates the way that exercises are done is more important than the exercises themselves.
If you have never taken a class or had a formal assessment, 4 private, personal sessions are recommended for proper form and basic exercises.

PILATES FOR GOLFERS
Pilates practice for golfers is the key to hitting longer, straighter drives. It will help you stretch and strengthen your shoulders, back and arms. Pilates will help even the most seasoned golfers to strengthen his or her core, hips, glutes and legs to provide the edge you need for your game.

IVENGAR STYLE YOGA
The physical postures of yoga are used to alleviate health problems, reduce stress and make the spine supple in contemporary times. Yoga is also used as a complete exercise program and physical therapy routine.

Emphasis on correct body alignment. While developing flexibility, strength and balance. Asanas* are held for a considerable length of time. The use of props makes this class appropriate for all levels.

For clients who display proper form and breathing and have Pilates experience, Reformer classes are available. Reformer exercises can be done lying down, sitting, kneeling or standing on the carriage.

ACTIVE ISOLATED STRETCHING (AIS)
Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is a systematic method of muscle lengthening and fascial release that redefines what it means to “stretch.” AIS is a type of facilitated stretching that employs active movement on the part of the recipient to balance the pull of soft tissue across a specific joint, providing both functional and physiological restoration to both the superficial and deep fascial planes.

Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is one of the methods of stretching most used by today's athletes, massage therapists, personal/athletic trainers, and professionals. Active Isolated Stretching allows the body to repair itself and also to prepare for daily activity. The Active Isolated Stretching technique involves the method of holding each stretch for only two seconds. This method of stretching is also known to work with the body's natural physiological makeup to improve circulation and increase the elasticity of muscle joints and fascia. There are several ways of learning about Active Isolated Stretching (AIS).

The Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) method of muscle lengthening and fascial release is a type of Athletic Stretching Technique that provides effective, dynamic, facilitated stretching of major muscle groups, but more importantly, AIS provides functional and physiological restoration of superficial and deep fascial planes.

Over the past few decades many experts have advocated that stretching should last up to 60 seconds. For years, this prolonged static stretching technique was the gold standard. However, prolonged static stretching actually decreases the blood flow within the tissue creating localized ischemia and lactic acid buildup. This can potentially cause irritation or injury of local muscular, tendinous, lymphatic, as well as neural tissues, similar to the effects and consequences of trauma and overuse syndromes.
