I have been to the Stringfellow campus several times for the same condition. I had a large kidney stone that was not going to pass without intervention. Everyone was kind, helpful, and extremely efficient from the ER staff, the nurses on the floor, to the operating room staff. I had such a wonderful experience and want to thank everyone involved in my care! You made an uncomfortable time much better.
If I could give a 0 I would. The nurses were nice most of them, there was a few , but dealing with what all they had going on I can understand why. . And doing everything they possibly could. The place was so busy it was crazy. Where my compliments come in. I took my daughter for stomach pains and other issues. She is extremely shy. Well when we finally get into a room. The rude man that calls himself a Dr. Ohbuchi Sampson, as I began to speak tells me to be quiet. Tells her to look him in the eyes when speaking to him. What part of extremely shy don't he get. She was doing good to just be there. Then he sent us on our way 30 minutes later still unknown as to what really is wrong. If you are sick and he is on call run away as fast as you can.
They don't listen very well. You go to be treated when sick or needing a procedure done but they either forget you and leave you sitting for hours or rush you and don't do compassion. From one extreme to the other. They are not the best care givers and even less since joining RMC hospital, I must admit
I saw Dr. Sells several nights ago so sick sick and scared. He is Awesome, He did lab work and was very concerned. I continued to get worse so Family said You’re going to Birmingham. I was seen there the medications helped and I felt a lot better full of hope and sure that I was getting better. I woke up yesterday morning right back like I was before the IV and meds I was treated with in Bham , I waited the day out praying things would improve and they continued . I didn’t know what else to do other than go back to Stringfellow , I was in no condition to get myself to Bham feeling faint , numbness, weakness and with a heart rate of 132 when I arrived there no way I needed to drive to Bham. I had an EKG and blood work, I had asked for a CT Scan to determine what is causing the numbness throughout my entire body and tingling as well as inflammation. Labs were done , EKG and They said they had slowed down it would be about 30 minutes. I fell asleep and woke up hours later asked the male nurse about my results and was told the Dr. was tied up with something. 5 minutes later a not so nice and friendly nurse comes and hands me my paperwork and I’m free to go 7 hours later with no explanation, no CT Scan No Anything other than a Recommendation to use the same place for treatment with a Chronic Condition . Could I had made it to Bham I certainly would have , That isn’t always possible for people who are sick or financially cannot do so. Horrible experience. I am back home with the same problems and concerns and fears. This is Sad . Nobody wants to be sick and people just want help to get well . There is no reason to tell someone something that is common sense. People just wanted treated with care and respect,Anwsers to what is wrong and to get well . 4 Years of not getting a concrete Answer to what is wrong or the proper treatment and I am ready to move. Born and raised here but it is worse than ever before.
Excellent detox. They don't dope you up too much. All the nurses and techs are great. It's basically like a cheap motel, and the food portions are unending.
I went to the hospital because I have a huge red knot, obviously infection, on my breast and hurting so bad my clothes hurt it. I was hoping they would at least lance it to give me relief. The nurse assumed the same. When the Dr, Dr Vasquez, came in talking over me to inform me that they don't do mammograms which I knew then he touched the spot and told me to go to my primary Dr and left the room. I've never been treated as badly as he treated me, like I didn't matter. All I wanted was relief until I could get in to my primary. He informed me that he couldn't give me pain pills which I didn't want and informed him I had some at home. Totally rude, talking over me the entire time. Signs stated that patients should treat staff with respect and would be treated the same. This is definitely not the case, there was no respect for me as a person shown. Never will I go back there even if I'm dying. I sat there for 2and a half hours just to be treated like a nobody
Even though Stringfellow and RMC are owned by the same people the Staff at Stringfellow are more efficient, friendlier, and have a much better attitude than anyone at RMC. I'm adding an edit. I read a review that a lady left who was treated horribly in the ER and by Dr Vasquez. I had no dealings with the ER. My review was referring to the Out Patient Surgery department. I should have made that clear. I feel terrible that the lady was treated so horribly and not given any relief for her situation. That was uncalled for.
Everyone I've delt with as far as nurses , doctors, triage nurses have been very respectfull & kind.. it depends on what time you go honestly. If you go after 10p.m of course your going to get the staff who really could care less about you... everything is better during normal business hours 7-5.. but my wait was only 2 hours..
Under no circumstances should anyone come here. If I could rate zero or negative starts I would. Never come here.
I came to the hospital in real bad pain. My legs and head was hurting and I could barley breathe. It took 2 hours to get my vitals checked. My blood pressure was very high and my heart rate was through the roof. Everyone including the police officer that was on duty there had an attitude. No one paid any attention to the fact that I was in a lot of pain. By the time I get to vitals the nurse said that I had to wait back in the lobby. I asked for a blanket if she was going to sit me back in the lobby. She told me they are for the patients……. I thought I was a patient too but never the less I was going to get a Covid test that would have took 1 to 2 hours to return from labs. So I would have had to sit back out in the lobby in pain for another 2 hours. I left and went to my doctor. I advise if you can wait until you can go to your doctor do so. These people do not care about your well being even though that’s their jobs.
