As a salon owner for 30 years I have learned alot along my journey. The biggest key in my opinion is listening to the client. Spend time on your consultation. Visual is important, so is finding out their ability to do their own hair. Color and custom cutting is 90% of our business so you must be able to relate before you can create a new style and color. Remember that our clients are our paychecks. Never get too full of our selves or forget their importance. Continuing education is our key goal. We must stay on top of new styles and the best new products. Having a great team that shares your ideas is key. We must always grow to serve our clientelle who have grown to expect the best from us.
