In keeping with the mission of Franklin Pierce University, Franklin Pierce University’s Study Abroad program supports student experiences with cultures other than their own. It does this by developing and providing educational opportunities for study and travel outside of the United States that will: a) clarify culture differences and similarities, b) develop a sense of global diversity, and c) provide a basis for personal understanding in an international context.
In the context of the International Studies Programs, the mission of the Department is to produce graduates who achieve the following learning objectives.
• Teach self advocacy; assertiveness; move beyond the comfort zone;
• Expose students to new culture
• Develop broader interest in global world
• Develop recognition and better sense of global common good
• Develop appreciation for global liberal arts
• Learn new language; architecture; history; local politics
• Develop an appreciation for professional development
