The Styberg Library is the Academic Library of the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and Bexley Seabury Seminary.
The United Library was established in 1981 when the libraries of Seabury-Western Theological Seminary and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary were merged. In April 2009, Garrett-Evangelical purchased the Seabury-Western interest in the collection. On May 11, 2017, the library was renamed The Ernest and Bernice Styberg Library in honor of the Styberg's generous donations to Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. We invite all patrons and visitors to explore the book stacks, to use the public study spaces, and to delve into our special collections of rare items.
The Styberg Library advances the educational mission of Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary by expanding access, enhancing the teaching and learning process, empowering research, and facilitating collaboration. The Library serves Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Bexley Seabury Seminary, Northwestern University, and the wider communities of students, pastors, and scholars.
