We went the weekend before memorial day and had a blast. They have better tubes and they have cooler tubes as well. It's very nice and your on the water all day. I recommend to get there early and also make reservations that way your guaranteed a spot. Walk ins are welcomed but if they are booked for the day then you'll have to come back another time. Love love love this place!!! Can't wait to go again!!!!
The Sugar Creek Campground was a great place for our family to stay. We were just passing through, but it would be great for several days & group camping fun! The staff was helpful and nice & the facilities were clean. We also enjoyed the 2 hour kayaking trip on Sugar Creek.

We like staying at the campground for the weekend of Iron Man and have done so for three years or more. This year they put in gates at the main entrance off the highway and another at the office before the campground. Campers receive one key card to use at the gates even if there are multiple guests and vehicles. This system makes sense except that all guests must share one card which doesn't work if they separate during the stay. The other issue we had was the card swipe podium at the office. There needs to be a stop sign at the key podium and not at the gate itself. It's not intuitive or easy to find the key podium. Other than that, the park is great and the people are nice. We will be back, but hope they work out some of the gate issues before then.
We did an adult camping/tubing trip here last year and this year we did a family trip with all the kids. We will keep coming back! The campground is spacious and clean. Tubing was so much fun. The best part about this place is the staff! Office ladies are friendly and so nice. There's a gentleman there I believe is the owner, but I'm not 100% sure but he is amazing. Drove the bus back from tubing. Was very nice to everyone and very accommodating. The whole staff is like that! We needed 2 tubes with bottoms for our little ones and they went to look in another area for us and found some for them. We needed a different grill thing for the fire pit and they loaned us one they said a family member made. My son also enjoyed "trying" to race the guy in his cart/vehicle he drives around in. Thank you for indulging him in that race. Even though he's busy, he makes time for campers who stop him and have questions. We will always recommend this place and will keep coming back! We just got home from our camping trip there. It is one of the best campgrounds I have stayed at. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Very clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this place. Lots to do there. We rented kayaks and had a great time. Such a fun stay!!
My group had such a great time kayaking and canoeing down the river. The employees were AMAZING! Super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going here from now on for any floating trip.
Great customer service and honest communication about water levels, efficient process for renting kayaks and transportation even on a slow-reservation day. Eagles and herons were a nice bonus to a great kayak trip! Thank you!
The rustic campsite was nice but we questioned the cleaning of the showers. We stayed four days and three nights and noticed the hair covering the drains and same dead bugs on the walls of the shower stall every night we showered. Anyone that camps knows the shower get used so my guess is they get cleaned very much.
Absolutely love Sugar Creek Campground Amazing customer service, quiet atmosphere and relaxing creek views! We come at the beginning and the end of every season highly recommend
