Sugarloaf Vineyard kayaking, winery nestled in the Missouri Ozarks Highland Region. What a magnificent venue to enjoy a great glass of wine, wonderful food and the ambiance and relaxation you can only find on the shores of the Lake of the Ozarks!

We have now retired from the winery and no longer offer tastings or food but we do still rent kayaks and have vacation rental homes.

"Sugarloaf vacation rental homes are located at the mouth of the Big Niangua right where it meets the Lake of the Ozarks. It is lake level for about 3 miles upstream so very easy paddling up or down the river. Abundant wildlife to see and you can paddle right inside onyx cave! Bring your own beverages and food and have a picnic right on the Lake or "beach" the kayak along the river and enjoy your picnic while swimming in the Lake! Bring a fishing pole along and catch bass, catfish or walleye while floating. You can view/book the houses VRBO, listing ID'S 456930 and 456932"

Very nice place to stay for a long time, and get your mind straight. We are looking forward to staying again next year.

Great place to go kayaking from! Located just around the lake from Ha Ha Tonka or you can go up the river and into a cave. The kayaks were well-maintained, good sized and reasonable to rent. Would definitely visit again!

What a beautiful spot to spend some quiet time. The house is well stocked, the lake is relaxing and our family enjoyed the week spending time together.

Great, friendly owners. Super helpful giving directions to places of interest, and in getting your kayak launched. Had a great time, will visit again :

Friendly people. They run a lodge of sorts that has a bunch of games to play. Ping pong to giant connect four. Kayak launch has a huge fire pit and picnic tables.

The owners were very friendly and made you feel really welcome. The place has an awesome view and a great deck to sit and eat and enjoy your wine. Definitely going to make an effort to get back to this place even tho we are hundreds of miles away! Didn't have a real big selection of wines but when they are that high of quality - you don't need a big selection! They were great!

We LOVE this winery!  Barb and Nancy are outstanding.  They are both very personable and you feel like you are part of the family.  Wines are very good and they make their own BBQ.  Just down the hill they rent kayaks and paddle boards daily.  We work up our appetite first and then enjoy the wine and food.  The full moon kayaking is not to be missed!

So so great!  We didn't realize reservations are recommended but luckily we went on a quiet day.  The owners are so nice and helpful.  The kayaks were in good condition and had bungees to strap your belongings in and take along.  And the cave is amazing!  It was so much fun!  I think they have stand up paddle boards too, which I really wanted to try again but paddleboarding in a cave was out of my comfort zone and I wasn't about to miss out on the cave.  We hung out on the water for a couple hours, as well as finding a little "beach" he had pointed out to us.  The cove/river this place is located in was so quiet and peaceful.  Several little islands to watch wildlife, and very few boats rocking the water. Make sure to wear lots of sunscreen and bug spray!  After we went for a dip at the beachy area, I think some of ours washed off because we both got a little burnt on our legs and were getting bitten by flies during the last stretch.

Beautiful location and vista views of the water, I could have sat on their patio/balcony all afternoon!! I had a blast sampling some of their different wines and taking in the surroundings. The people who run the place were so friendly and I love that you can rent kayaks from them as well for up to 4 hours! If you rent a kayak from them, make sure you check out Onyx Cave nearby! I would highly recommend this place, it exceeded all my expectations.
