Located on the north-east end of campus, Suites@201 is a five-story building with exterior masonry and metal panels. Hyer Hall, an existing residence hall (200-bed capacity) was razed to make room for the suites project.
Suites@201 provides housing for 323 students plus five community advisors. Each suite-style apartment includes four single-occupant bedrooms, a common living room, full kitchen and bathroom facilities. There are 82 four-bedroom suites including five unites that allow the Community Advisor to reside within a larger four-bedroom suite while maintaining a private entrance. A typical suite is 944 square feet.
The new building is sited and designed to include sustainable design principles emphasizing energy efficiency, long-term durability and maintenance while remaining flexible and adaptable. The project has met LEED Silver certification.
