Sullivan Brill is a premier New York Personal Injury and Criminal Defense law firm. The firm represents individuals that have been injured as a result of the wrongful conduct of another person or corporation. This includes car accidents, fall downs, construction accidents, medical malpractice, false arrest and police brutality, and products liability claims, including injuries resulting from defective medical devices and dangerous prescription drugs. The firm's criminal practice encompasses all facets of federal and state crimes and government investigations.
Sullivan Brill is different from many other law firms in that the attorneys are courtroom lawyers who have exceptional experience trying cases. All attorneys of Sullivan Brill started their careers in positions that allowed them to gain valuable trial experience and all of them have amassed exceptional records of success at trial.
After graduating cum laude from Temple University School of Law, Joseph Sullivan started his legal career defending insurance companies and corporations. He gained valuable trial experience, including victories against some of the top plaintiffs' trial attorneys in New York City. Nevertheless, he also saw firsthand how individuals could be outgunned in such litigation. In 2001, he left his former partners and began focusing on representing individuals who were injured due to the wrongful acts of others. His experience representing insurance companies and corporations has given him a unique understanding of how the opposition thinks and enables him to maximize settlements and verdicts for the firm's injured clients. He has obtained numerous significant settlements for clients injured in automobile accidents, construction accidents, scaffolding accidents, fall down accidents, sexual assaults as well as those who have been injured due to medical malpractice, defective products and violations of the liquor law.
Steven Brill had been defending clients accused of criminal offenses since graduating from Temple University School of Law in 1994. His commitment to defending the accused from the extraordinary power of the state and federal government made him a natural ally. He had exceptional experience handling serious felony cases, from homicide, robbery and sex offenses to drug trafficking, conspiracy and white collar crimes. Since co-founding the firm, Steven Brill has continued to defend the accused in federal district courts of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and Florida. Steven Brill has been involved in several notable and high-profile criminal cases in the state and federal courts. He also handles related civil lawsuits against police for brutality, false arrest, malicious prosecution and other civil rights abuses.
Since its inception in 2001, Sullivan Brill has grown from two law partners to a team of eight attorneys and four support staff. The firm remains true, however, to the principles on which it was founded — providing exceptional representation and individual attention to accident victims. Where some injury firms angle to settle claims quickly and move on to the next case, we strive to help clients with their immediate problems and to serve their best long-term interests. We assist with no-fault, workers' compensation, victims' compensation and disability claims to ensure clients are reimbursed for medical bills and lost wages. Meanwhile we prepare for trial, knowing that large corporations and insurance companies will hold back on full compensation as long as possible or even push the case to a jury trial. This approach has served our clients well, as reflected in our verdicts and settlements.
