The ultimate summer camp for LA city kids! My son & daughter have had the best 2 summers of their lives at Summerkids. Their first year was in 2021 during the height of Covid, and the camp handled everything like a dream. Their communication, precautions, masking, thoughtfulness towards parent's concerns was always on point. Then in 2022 my kids returned and their experience was up-leveled even more with the cooking and gardening activities being re-opened! My kids love the swimming, archery, capture the flag games, arts & crafts, the singing around the "campfire" in the morning, and the warm and supportive energy of the counsellors and staff. We LOVE Summerkids and we'll certainly be back in 2023! Thank you, Cara!
Two of my three kids attend this camp, and I can't wait for the third to get big enough to join them! I love the range of activities offered at Summer Kids, which means that my two children, who are different in nearly every way, can both enjoy themselves, one doing Dungeons and Dragons, the other making a lanyard, both of them swimming, both of them having their specific experience of summer. I love that they get to be outside, that they can get dirty, and that they can make all kinds of new friends there. It's a loving environment with cool counselors and fun activities that make you never want to go back to school. It's just as summer camp should be.
Both of my boys went this summer. The elder one for the third time and the younger one for the first time. After the first day he came back exuberantly proclaiming "We got to play all day!!!" Both love the camp with its many activities, the outdoor environment, and the camp counselors who have obvious joy doing their 'work.' It's becoming a tradition in our family and we are grateful to be able to send our boys.
My kids loved the activity options at Summerkids camp and had a ton of fun. I love that they get to have lots of time outside and meet other kids outside their school.
My daughter has been attending Summerkids for eight years now and couldn't imagine going anywhere else! Each year there is a wonderful combination of returning campers and new ones. She loves the combination of seeing old friends and making new ones. We also appreciate how the camp as "grown" along with her. Summer Challenge is perfect for those middle school years. Because of the many exceptional counselors our daughter has known throughout her Summerkids experience, it is now a goal of hers to be one herself. It's truly a magical and warm place!
My son has attended Summerkids for 9 years. He loves the counselors and the easy-going feel the camp has cultivated. He always has a great time and looks forward to going back every summer.
My son calls Summerkids his happy place. He's gone for 3 summers and loves it. We are so happy with Cara and the staff as well a all the activities. It's the true "camp" experience, which is hard to find here in the LA area. Highly recommend.
My daughter absolutely loved Summerkids. She loved the freedom to choose from a variety of great activities and appreciated being in such a beautiful outdoor setting. She also really loved the staff. Summerkids counselors are all bright, conscientious, and great with kids. They are excited to be there and it makes the campers excited to be there too. I can't think of a better place for my child to spend her summer days.
This is a wonderful summer camp for school age kids! My daughter has been going there since kindergarten. She comes home every day with a new, fun & different experience to share. It could be a craft or an outdoor adventure. And, as she has gotten older, the activities have advanced. The camp also builds community as the kids get to know kids from different schools and then they end up playing sports together as they get older. An all around wonderful experience that will create lifelong memories and friends!
Summerkids is just a magical place. The extremely responsible and well trained staff goes to great lengths to make sure that each and every child is having a wonderful experience. The camp allows kids to explore the outdoors and try new things in a safe, encouraging environment. Kids are able to choose from a variety of activities each day so there really is something new for everyone to enjoy from swimming, to archery, to craft projects. This is a family owned camp that has been providing kids with a truly unique summer experience for generations. My kids came home every day tired out and happy. There really is a reason why people come back year after year!
