"We are obsessed with roofing. Despite how strange that sounds (it’s okay, our wives think so too), it’s the truth. Nearly a decade ago we stepped into the roofing industry and knew we found our forever home. Here’s a short story about us and the path we’ve taken to reach this point (pun intended).
Our friendship began in 1999 at Grand Rapids Christian High School. We became best friends and teammates, then four years later we shared a dorm room at Calvin College. Somehow, we graduated. Upon graduation we set out for Alaska to build log homes. After some persistent encouragement from our “better halves,” we decided to buckle down and find a career. In 2006, we found ourselves in Denver, Colorado selling roofing components for competing manufacturers. Since then, we’ve been each other’s customers, competitors, and counterparts. After learning the ins and outs of the roofing industry, we made our homecoming to Grand Rapids with plans of starting our own company. Our vision was to create a complete roofing experience that would not only raise the standard within the industry, but also compensate for shortcomings we saw in other roofing companies. We saw an opportunity to put our honesty, integrity, and professionalism into good practice.
