I have always stated that every single public library everywhere deserves a 5-star rating for the simple fact that they have free books. However, if I could give this particular library a higher than 5-star rating, I would. The library itself rivals the selection of the main Yakima library, and it is seriously nice inside, nice enough that I prefer reading in there than in any other place, including my own home at times. I like the fact that it's inviting to all ages. The staff has always been polite and professional, and has gone out of its way to make sure that my questions are answered. Out of all the Yakima Valley library, this is by far my favorite. The only downside for me is that I live about 40 minutes away
No public wifi. It's a great spot to study but you have to use your phones hotspot if you want to have internet on a laptop. Despite telling staff about this on two separate occasions, it still does not work. Because I.T. services are not available at the library, the staff is not able to do anything about the issue.
I went in there for the first time with my 18 month old. I went for a quick print and while I was there another 18 month old came in and as soon as the kids interacted all the works seemed annoyed. I understand it’s a library but when two babies and just talking back-and-forth there’s no need to be rude about it. I just moved from California and wanted a cute library to go print stuff out or whatever real quick but for sure will be straying away from this library and looking for another one instead!
Friendly staff. Beautiful library. They have a nice big children's area!
Lady at front desk is always in a bad mood. She doesn't seem to like kids. I will go out of my way to avoid this library. Every time I check out she is rude, and seems very annoyed. Apparently at West Valley Library doesn't teach customer service or just common manners.
Friendly, courteous staff. Plastic covered keyboards. Not sure how the plastic keeps anyone from contracting anything but I assume easy to wipe afterwards if the library staff is so inclined. Open. That's the most welcome news I can share. The facility is open and although the time limit is 30 minutes per day, I can now print things I need when necessary
I am a person ,who has had both her shots and according to the CDC, news and other outlets. We can now go without masks, Doctors have said if you can smell through your masks the virus is getting through it. We don’t need to wear masks as we are no threat to anyone. I resent my freedom being taken away by a hall monitor. I have made precautions to protect myself and others, so should be allow to have my choice of wearing a mask or not. I am not a threat to anyone.
Very nice place. Friendly staff. Library is very very clean. Great place to study and have time to yourself. Way better than a noisy coffee shop. My favorite study place.
If it's alone time or just quiet time you need, the West Valley Library is just the place. Or bring the whole family it's a great place. They have all kinds of reading material. Come and join for free. See you there.
Very nice library with nice selection of books of all genres, dads and periodicals. Friendly staff free wifi, computers available by reservations, comfortable seating and even a fireplace in the winter make it a nice place to visit for all ages
