Sun Set Cemetery .

This is a beautiful well kept cemetery here in Albuquerque. Staff is very cordial and welcoming. However my Mother passed away in February. We paid immediately for her plot and headstone. However we did not get the headstone until yesterday, almost 7 months later. Myself and my family felt thus was unacceptable. They would tell me when I reached out to them that it was because there was a shortage on the gray granite that we chose. If I had known this would have taken do long I would have purchased a headstone somewhere else. In addition they offered no discount nor did they offer to use another stone which would have sufficed. Regardless my Mother's headstone is in place now and looks as promised.

A very nice cemetery in Albuquerque. I had to come here recently for a close family member’s funeral. Very glad to see that the location was in such a terrific spot, near a very large set of praying hands. Very easy access to the main roads. Was easy to find. It rained a little then stopped and got super sunny. I guess that didn’t need to be in the review, but it helped make the visit more pleasant.

My twenty-four year old daughter passed away four months ago. My Ex-husband & I were working with Deanna. losing my only daughter & best friend didnt just kill me it demolished me! but to work with someone who treats you less than because I paid less than my Ex-husband, gives her the right to treat me like I'm nothing?! I have left message after message for the past three months with no call back! I finally reached her today, again, rude & short! She was also suppose to send me the proofs for our daughter's head stone four month's ago NEVER received that neither in-fact she told me to ask my Ex-husband for it because she doesn't have time & shes leaving on a trip for ten days! You had four month's, Are you kidding me? I am grief-stricken to my core! My daughter was the air that I breathe. We are one heart one soul I'm struggling with such a major loss in my life, to be treated like I'm less than, makes things that much worse!! The way she has handled this, I'm sorry but it screams "IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY"!!. I contributed & I am her mother for goodness sake, Where's your compassion, when people like me need it the most??

Over the past month's the cemetery ground upkeep as been poor, the grass and weeds have grown up over some/a large portion of the Headstones making the headstones almost not visible. I believe founder Chester T. French would be disappointed in this quality of care. There are signs posted mowing season, but the mowing is not sufficient to keep up with the overgrowth of the grass and weeds on the grounds, plots etc. The trimming around the gravestones is also being neglected. Overall cleanup has been poor with debris strewn around the grounds. Doesn't do any good to go to the office as it just puts a target on you and sets you up for harassment. Seems like this is a common occurrence from other people, this was taken from another review on your site 2 years ago First visit to my mom’s grave in two years. So many graves, including my mom’s, covered in dead grass. Grass so deep on headstones that many unable to identify. Also, many headstones are sinking. I was so disappointed and sad that this cemetery is being neglected. I have been visiting for 39 years and have never seen it so unkept.

This place has always given me solace through hard points in my life. Spending time with lived ones past brings me peace and focus. Until today, Memorial Day, while falling apart in my vehicle, the creepiest security guard started into my window and crept away. So uncomfortable I left, not sure if I can go back.

Paul was so kind to us and helped walk us through the process. It can be very intimidating being in such an emotional and unfamiliar situation. Paul was patient, informative and so helpful. It wasn’t even a question that our mother would be laid to rest at the most beautiful cemetery in New Mexico. But Paul gave us information that we never knew or had thought of. He really did put us at ease when it came to the decisions that were best for our mother. Paul was honest and truly a standup kind of person. Her service was peaceful and exactly what she deserved.

My grandpa was buried here and I couldn't ask for a better place to lay him to rest. They always keep up with everything. My grandma noticed that there was a stain on my grandpa's gravestone and someone at the cemetery cleaned it off the next day. They also installed a flower vase for him at no additional cost.

Forever greatful for this place my Grandmother & Grandfather are resting here as well as lots of friends and family very clean and well kept Thank You

Be careful when selecting this place as a final resting for your loved one. They remove the items you buy for your loved ones grave without notice. And then does not return the items might be selling them on the side. They have no respect for the gravesite unless you yourself clean it up. Seriously consider other options.

This cemetery is well maintained and the staff are very supportive and knowledgeable. They are adding new spaces in the Chester T. Memorial Mausoleum which is absolutely beautiful.
