Such a beautiful park, very spacious, and the playground is really nice, it's fairly new equipment, lots of different slides and nice little area for toddlers just starting out on the playground. What's weird is this is such a nice park and there's barely ever anyone there. Very dog friendly- lots of room for them to run, there's a small picnic covered picnic area right next to playground with about 4 tables, there's a couple outhouses one each entrance to the park.
Wonderful park with lots of playing choices like soccer, tennis, basketball and lot more . We like the playing area with is loved by the children. Huge green grasses that a relief for eyes. Parking is good and we love the neighborhood as well. Picnic area is also fine . Love to come again.
Great place for a family reunion or birthday party! Limited parking in lot so some people have to park on street and walk a little ways.
Love going here. There is so much space and so many cool trees to relax under. Such a great spot with a playground and tennis courts, as well as the trail. Very relaxing and peaceful here.
Went there for a youth football game. The grass was nicely mowed. As almost anywhere in MN, check yourself for ticks after being in the grass. I picked up one there.
I played pickleball at Sunny Acres for the first time on Tuesday. There are four courts, with the front two being in decent shape but the back two having large cracks running through the courts. They could use some resurfacing for sure.
I had not been at Sunny Acres Park since I was a child. I was disgusted by the fact that there was over 200 people there for Flag Football and only 2 Porta Potty's! There is restrooms in a building however they were locked. The 2 that were there were filthy dirty and full of human waste almost to the top of the toilet seat! The grass was very long which made it difficult to walk in when it was raining. I was very disappointed. It is not the Sunny Acres that I remember as a child. Anoka Parks and Recreation has to do better for our Community. You have to have more places to go to the bathroom that 2 filthy porta potty's.
Sunny Acres has so many options for a neighborhood park. Softball/baseball fields, a large playground, soccer fields, basketball, tennis, and pickle ball courts. There are parking options on 3 different sides of the park, which is very convenient.
Very open park, large tennis court area and a winding bike/walking path that leads past a big playground with lots of different ladders and walkways that little kids will love, complete with 10 slides of different sizes and shapes. At least two soccer fields, two baseball diamonds and large open grass areas great for flying kites or hobby R/C's. The bathrooms in the cement pavilion are often locked but there is usually a portable toilet on the grounds.
Such a fun and adventurous playground! I went with our young boys but it also has a small toddler play area. Also, there is a parent/baby swing. Ibwish I would've known of this park when our littles were smaller. I'm thrilled we've found it now and will absolutely be going back!
