You can walk into the barn and around the grounds to visit the horses. Do NOT feed them. You can also sign up to volunteer there on a regular basis. The horses are all very chill and friendly. Restrooms: Restrooms in the main building with the inside arena. Picnic area: There are a few tables around the area.
Amazing stables and the staff are lovely
I'm very proud to say my granddaughter is 16years old and is working happily toward her second year volunteering for the camp and SPUR program ... wonderful people and precious horses!! Excellent program!
Although it is a county park, this is a working equestrian center. Parents bring their children here after school to learn to ride horses. Across The road, Middletown-Lincroft Rd. There is easy walking trails.
Nice place, my daughter LOVES all the horses. Some of the staff on a recent visit seemed to have a bug up their ass and kept criticizing how my daughter was petting a horse that was in his/her pen. My daughter is 10 and loves every animal she sees, not like she was hurting the horse. I was the better person and chose not to berate the employees, but I did cut her visit short before I embarrassed my daughter. Maybe their underwear was too tight.
The park system is having some classes in the building. Now seems to have resumed equestrian lessons. Dog-friendliness: Because of the horses some fenced areas and the barns are dog prohibited areas unless they are service animals.
Sunnyside is an incredible facility that provides programs for Equine Therapy. The staff is amazing. The horses and the property are absolutely beautiful. It is a true treasure to have in Monmouth County. And a heads up for the reviewer that thinks it is “pony rides for rich kids” he may want to drop by and see that the program is therapy for a wide variety of disabled children, adults and veterans. There are miracles achieved every day through the hard work and dedication of the staff and volunteers with the support of the county and the SPUR Board
My son loves going riding here, especially on the trails. It truely relaxes him. His instructor Lisa is always patient with him. I highly recommended this place if you have a special needs child.
I have only walked across the street from the equestrian center. Great for dog walking. There's a small paved trail and other grassy trails. It is a small park.
Nice Green and open space. But it is advisable to remove wild and allergic weed be removed.
