Sunrise Christian Food Ministry started in 1983 to supply emergency food for needy residents of the northeast Sacramento area. Food supplies and financing are provided by 25 supporting churches. It is the mission of the Food Ministry to provide five (5) days of nutritionally balanced food supplies every 30 days when an emergency occurs. Verifiable residents of Fair Oaks (95628), Citrus Heights (95610 & 95621), and Orangevale (95662) are served by the Food Ministry.
Since the beginning of Sunrise Christian Food Ministry the number of families served has increased seven fold. This has put more burden on the supporting agencies. However, this helps in the demonstration of the Love of Jesus to our fellow man.
We ask that you, as a supporter of the Food Ministry, consider extending you giving an extra meal or more to help us fulfill our mission.
Provide emergency food and other assistance to residents of the northeast area of Sacramento County as an endeavor to alleviate human suffering and hunger.
This corporation is an ecumenical ministry of local Christian churches who participate in the following ways:
a. Through prayer;
b. Through providing volunteers to work in the food closet;
c. Through financial support; and
d. Through food resources.
