Gorgeous area, crystal clear water, nice views of Yosemite from here! Quiet, low traffic, peaceful, serene. If you get the chance to camp here, go out to look at the lakes around 3-4AM. The water is so still, it looks like a black mirror, and seamlessly reflects the surrounding trees, mountains, and stars. You would have to see it. No words or photos will ever do it justice.
3 mile hike. Stairway is the toughest part.
