Overall, Ojo Santa Fe is a really great place on the outside. I heard nothing but great things, so my girlfriend and I went to check it out. The hot tubs and pools are all great. Exactly what you'd hope for/expect. The view is great and the little things like the fruit growing everywhere, the puppy area, and more make it pretty fun. The Blue Heron also has very good food, although you should go in expecting to pay for it. Even the less expensive stuff gets expensive very quickly, but it is delicious. Anyone saying it's not is kidding themselves. The reason I gave 3 stars and was disappointed was because of the the room having multiple issues that made our stay much less comfortable and almost impossible for me and my girlfriend to sleep. The mini fridge kept banging over and over as it tried to work through the night, and I don't mean normal fridge sounds, but loud and obnoxious clanking every 10-15 minutes all night; the toilet paper holder was broken; and the door well to the room was painted over extremely poorly so the door was very difficult to open/shut properly. The cherry on top was the balcony area being totally filthy, not making it a place to sit and relax in. For what I paid, I expected a more relaxing environment and the ability to sleep comfortably. It was the main reason I booked the room instead of coming for just the day, and it ended up biting me to say the least. So, overall if you're just looking to go for the day, it's pretty good. A fun place to relax for a bit without a doubt. In order for me to want to stay the night again though, there are a lot of things that I feel would need to be fixed before we would considered it again.
The pools are not the mineral pools but natural spring fed. They are clean and refreshing. We stayed for 2 nights in a 2 bedroom casita. It was not as clean as one would expect. The carpet was very dirty. The linens were not fresh. We did have plenty of white towels. The air conditioner at night was not up to par. I saw two insects on the wall and ceiling at night that I tolerated, but, the black bugs a few that I dusted off the bed really grossed me out. I had a hard time sleeping once I saw them. Rooms: As I mentioned above under “Safety”, this was big disappointment for the cost of the room. Nearby activities: Very close to the airport. Fairly easy trip to center of Santa Fe’s Canyon Art Center by car during the daylight. Night drive back to resort was challenging as it is not a well lit drive. Safety: The lack of cleanliness of this lodging was a safety risk as far as I was concerned. This is supposed to be a wellness retreat center. We stayed in a 2 bedroom casita which was $500 a night. Not good. Walkability: Walking was good, however, many steps, gravel paths and not wheelchair accessible. There seemed to be ADA rooms, but, I did not see anyone in a wheelchair nor scooter. Food & drinks: Excellent food and service on site. Noteworthy details: Very helpful and hospitable staff. Very friendly and happy and eager to accommodate in Spa and gift shop. Very helpful in Guest Services locating a Gift Card that I forgot to bring from home. I.T. Tracked down the purchase easily. Very good Restaurant on site. You need to make a reservation, but, service and food outstanding. Sage Cafe was good for breakfast parfait and coffee. Wish coffee was available as early as 5 but coffee in room was good.
The Ojo Santa Fe Spa Resort was amazing! My husband and I spent a couple of days there and were impressed. We enjoyed the different soaking areas, and each one offered a different ambience. We did a private soak, too, as part of a package. The Casita was tasteful, comfortable, and private. We discovered the most flavorful New Mexican food a short drive away at El Parasol. Amazing!
Gorgeous nature and quiet location with 3 thermal pool areas and a salt water pool. I enjoyed the time here and got the day pass which was $45 on the weekday. We came for 2 hours in the afternoon and returned in the evening for an hour! They provided lockers and towels alongside wildcrafted shampoos, conditioner, body wash and lotions. Bring your sandals and swim suit. Note that if it thunders or lightnings, they will close the soaking tubs and pools. Steam room smelled dirty so we didn’t use it. The grounds was so beautiful with lots of fountains and running water around it and lounging areas.
Amazing place to relax and get away. I took my wife for her birthday and she loved it. The pools are warm and soothing. It was our first time and I just wish the staff were more inviting and helpful. The staff were nice but could be more friendly. Overall, it was a great place for a date or to just go relax with a friend.Service: 2/5
This place is heaven! Always my go to spot to relax and unplug right outside of Santa Fe. Never too crowded and always so beautiful and well maintained. Rooms were comfy, clean, and stylishly decorated. My third time staying here and it’s always consistent and wonderful. It’s a little far out from town so there’s not much to do besides enjoy the amenities of the resort, but it makes the experience so quiet and relaxing IMO. I would say the only drawback is that if you want to drink any alcohol you have to go to their upscale restaurant which is DELICIOUS and highly recommend!! to order, and if you are in a robe/swimsuit you will be declined service. It would be great if there was pool/tub side service to be able to order drinks or snacks without having to go inside anywhere. Their more causal cafe where there is no dress code does not serve alcohol and closes early in the day. Still such a great experience regardless and I can’t recommend Ojo enough! Would love to check out their Taos location someday.
My wife and I just got back from visiting Ojo Santa Fe and it was beyond great! I don't usually post any reviews but I really felt like I should tell anyone on the fence on if they wanted to spend the money on it to just pull the trigger. We went for my wife's birthday and the staff really went out of their way to make it special for her. It was our first time there but it was so relaxing and reinvigorating, we really want to make it a self-care staple. You can't pour from an empty cup. Invest in yourself/ your SO and go.
Wait staff was very rude, they make you wait 10 minutes before even saying hello. No smiles, they act very unhappy. And after you are seated it’s another 10 minutes before anyone comes to your table. I had to get up and ask the hostess 3 times if our waitress was going to come over. The hot tubs are pretty gross too. Ants everywhere, spider weds on all the walls. Their towels are worn out with holes and mismatched. Not worth the drive or the cost.
Love this place for a good day soak. I would have given them five stars, but it never has made any sense to me that they don't allow day passes to use the sauna at sunrise springs. They always say it's for the guests who rent a room, yet anytime I've been in there, there's never once been anyone else there. I tell you, the front desk guards that sauna like it's an infinity gem . Great place otherwise.
What is breathtaking place to spend a birthday! Even though it was a little windy the resort is a bit protected with the location. The pools were relaxing and tranquil. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase while soaking. Unfortunately, there was only one woman working the snack area… But she did a great job keeping things moving. We stayed pretty much all day and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Definitely a must see!
