SUNY Fredonia TESOL Program

About

Housed in the Department of Language, Learning, and Leadership, the TESOL Program offers a variety of Degree and Certificate of Advanced Study options.

Description

The TESOL program is housed in the Department of Language, Learning, and Leadership, College of Education. Two degree programs are offered: Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) and Master of Arts in Language & Learning (M.A.). We also offer programs leading to Certificates of Advanced Study (CAS) in Bilingual Education Extension and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

The Master of Science in Education is a graduate-level program designed for both in-service and pre-service teachers who seeks a TESOL K-12 degree program. The M.S.Ed, TESOL K-12 program leads to New York State initial and/or professional certification in TESOL K-12, depending upon the credentials with which the candidate enters this program. For more information, see http://www.fredonia.edu/coe/tesol.asp.

The Master of Arts in Language & Learning degree program is a 30-credit, interdisciplinary graduate-level program designed for gaining a Master’s degree with a chosen focus in one of three specializations: TESOL, Bilingualism/Multilingualism, and Heritage Languages. The M.A. program in Language and Learning does not lead to a recommendation for certification in New York State. For more information, see http://www.fredonia.edu/coe/MALangLearn.asp.
