We're proud to announce the grand opening of our spectacular and newly renovated property-the Super 8 West Columbia, SC!

All of our rooms feature pillow top mattresses, flat screen HDTV's, brand new refrigerators and microwaves, coffee makers with gourmet coffee to warm you up with delight, and countless other amenities. I thought it was going to be loud and disturbing the whole time because of the location. But it wasn't at all. Service when we checked in was great she really handled all 5 of us adults great. The next morning we left for the army base, came home and all our beds made fresh towels for us. It was great. We forgot to check our after our 2nd day due to timing issues with graduation. And they were more then happy to hold our things we left and accommodate us.
Wow where to start? The "newly remodelled" room we stayed in had only one thing going for it. The sheets were clean. The toilet leaked and cut on every 30 seconds to refill itself. The phone and main lamp didn't work. Stains all over the carpet. The staff were really friendly however and seemed to want to address our concerns but I don't think they had the resources to do much. We cancelled our 2nd night and booked at an Econolodge across the street. Also the side bar lists this hotel as having an indoor pool. This is an error. Its a seasonal outdoor pool.
When I was booking room online I called and asked about roll away bed. Front desk said just make sure you write it in memo area. When checking in front desk worker told me they don't have roll away beds. Had to go spend 50 on a blow up matress and sheets. The room was nasty. There was hair in the shower and food spilled in microwave with time still on timer. No hot water. Stains on the floor. Walls and door knobs on doors were fifty. Asked to change rooms. As moving stuff over got down to make sure none of our stuff was under beds, instead we found a bunch of trash. New room we were changed to was just as bad. And housekeeping had just been in there cuz you could smell cleaning supplies. They gave out keys to our rooms both old and new and we had random people walk in our room. The only reason I gave this place 1 star is because of the restaurant. The food was amazing. Thankfully it's ran by a different person. It's too bad he has to be associated with such a filthy motel. The pictures they post are nothing like what you get They have a room like that. We saw it. It was 2 rooms down room our old room. You could see vacuum lines striped in the carpet. Obviously their model room. Don't be fooled.
Substandard cleanliness. The microwave and refrigerator were both dirty, stained carpets and walls that needs repainting. The bed was comfortable, seemed to be clean sheets but could have used more pillows. There hot breakfast was lacking but it's a budget hotel, though I do have expectations of standards I believe should be met even for a budget hotel.
The rooms are pretty standard economy rooms. The beds are very comfortable and the amenities are nice. We had a mini-fridge, microwave, and of course a little coffee maker. The TV is a nice sized flat screen, as well, which made connecting our Playstation quite easy. The WiFi is decent, but loses connection frequently. The showers are nice and hot. It's nice and quiet here. There is a bar/grill at the hotel, and the food is average bar food. Overall, my stay has been pleasant, and relaxing.
Very disappointed. Room wasn't clean, there was hair in tub on floor and just very slack service. This isn't the 1st time had issues but will be the last. Seems that this hotel is going back to old things. The traffic and drugs and that type of people. The pool was closed because dhec closed it due negligence on staff. So what's the Manager doing? Nothing about any of these issues. Sad.
This is for The Daily Phoenix and the Lack of service received on Thursday, January 26, 2017. I went for the karaoke show. There were a few open tables available and they all were dirty. My friend and I sat at the least dirtiest table. We waited a few minutes and I eventually stopped a passing waitress to ask that the table be cleaned. She said that she would be back shortly to do so. She NEVER came back! She passed our table Several times and Completely IGNORED us. NO ONE even asked if we needed anything the WHOLE TIME we were there and that was almost two hours! I was completely disgusted and didn't waste my time to find any management. I left early too. I will Not be returning even though I wanted to try some of their menu items.
Horrible experience, Carpet was heavily stain all over, no shower curtain, toilet wouldn't flush properly, blankets where ripped I mean the only reason I stayed they wouldn't returned money if cancel. The pictures they have are fake once you go to the elevator makes you wanna run back out. Apparently their under renovation but honestly they should not be open to the public. Don't waste your time and money.
Had an amazing experience here!! We stayed for two nights and would definitely come back: I strongly recommend this motel. ALL of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and even had comfy pillows : Thanks to all of you for making our stay a great one!!!!
OMG!!! It was bad. It is a -1 and the continental breakfast was terrible and the food was not fresh only thing that was fresh was the milk The bed felt like sleeping on the floor and the pillows was so flat that you may as well sleep with out one... The floor was sticky and I will NEVER go back to that Motal!!! Then we paid for our pet to be with use and they said we didn't pay for them to be in the room.. We paid $88.00 for disgusting room for us to stay in OMG that bed like I said you might as well sleep on the floor!
