We had the best time taking “Thai favorites” with Chef Dom! I was brought as a surprise and came with no expectations. As someone who loves to cook but is not a pro by any means it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot also. Chef Dom did a great job of explaining the plan, keeping our semi large group organized, and making sure we all participated in the delicious meal we ate. She even added in a few tips and tricks that made our meal shine. To top it off, she is hilarious and made it so fun. When you are laughing, you are learning. I would definitely come back and take another class with her!
We had the best time with Chef Dom! She kept our group laughing, engaged, and was so informative. My fiancé booked this as a date night, and I didn’t see the menu until the day of. I was apprehensive when I saw salmon on the menu, because I really don’t like fish. I assumed I would eat the other food and skip the salmon, but I am so glad I tried it! It blew my mind. Not only was it good, it was my favorite part of the meal. Everything was delicious and it was a great experience! We are looking forward to our next cooking class - see you next time Dom!
Chef Dominique was incredible!! Our rustic Italian night was one for the books! Her energy and passion throughout the entire class made it even more memorable! You work in groups, but she encourages the team work and makes it a fun and engaging atmosphere! I would recommend her class to anyone, we’ll definitely be back!
Completely blown away by the exceptional service we received at Sur La Table. The staff member who assisted us went above and beyond to ensure that we found the perfect knives for our needs. She patiently explained the differences between various brands, uses, and types of knives, allowing us to make an informed decision. We were even given the opportunity to handle and feel the knives firsthand, which made our shopping experience even more enjoyable. Sur La Table truly understands the importance of focusing on their customers' satisfaction. We left feeling confident in our purchase and couldn't be happier with our upgraded knives. Thank you, Sur La Table!
We worked in groups of 4 so I wish the class was more personalized because you had to share lots of steps with others e.g. other people's hands rolling dough/touching ingredients that you will be later eating. My other concern is that the chef sent the email saying we can bring wine/directions to the place, etc. after the class which was puzzling. The whole class was bummed because they didn't know they could bring wine beforehand. I recommend better organization and a more personalized class. The food was very tasty but I would try another company for a future cooking class.
Had the absolute BEST time here making beef Wellington with chef dom! You can bring your own wine and drink while you cook. The food came out amazing and chef dom goes above and beyond to make sure your food is on point and even made us a desert! I will absolutely be back to cook with her!
The experience was wonderful! Learning a different culture step by step along side 2 chefs that made the whole experience engaging and hilarious! Chef Dom is great at what she does and especially while leading a group! The Thai food was a culture I’ve never indulged in, but the rice technique, stew and pad Thai were amazing!
Wasted $160! Yesterday we attended the 4pm date night cooking class at Charlotte store and were extremely disappointed. Chef was disorganized, did not demonstrate any techniques, rushed thru the process constantly watching the clock, didn't have the right tools, and more. We signed up for this class to learn something about brick cooking chicken. She didn't even have cast presses that fit into the cast pans nor did she preheat the presses so they were completely ineffective at searing the meat. We had to finish the chicken in the oven and mine was still raw inside and therefore inedible. In addition to that there was zero education happening she was merely giving unclear directions and everyone seemed to be relying on each other - one participant took over directing the risotto efforts for both teams. For the dessert cream, she first couldn't find the right equipment for a basic double boiler and then during the process she did nothing to watch the heat and allowed one team to curdle theirs. She stated multiple times she wasn't a pastry chef - but this wasn't pastry! She also told us several times that we had to be done by 630 to allow her to prep for the next class. We finished before 6 - and felt rushed all the way. We had really been looking forward to this event and were hoping to do more - but after this experience we will not be attending any more sessions at Sur La Table!
May 26 we attended Tuscan Villa class with Chef Dom. Our 7pm class started late due to a mall evacuation which put us behind schedule. Chef Dom was able to make a few adjustments, engage with our entire group in a very positive way, got us cooking and having fun and moved past the evening distraction. Michelin Star for Chef Dom! Thanks for making our evening fun, exciting, and yummy! Please do something special for her.
DO A COOKING CLASS!! It was so much fun! Chief Dominic is amazing! She is very knowledgeable and I learned so much! She was also very personable and funny! I will definitely be taking many more! The experience is well worth it.
