I have been learning the Khartals and Tabla with Sid since more than 6 months now and it has been a wonderful experience. Sid is a very attuned teacher and has a holistic approach to teaching the instruments. When not for a class, I visit Surya Sound temple to just immerse in music dabbling around with the countless instruments Sid has. Highly recommend it for both learning music or a sonic experience.
My wife and I were looking for a private sound bath and found Surya Sound Temple through the website. We decided to book the "deep meditation sound exploratory experience." Siddhartha greeted us with smiles. His warm personality made us feel relaxed and and at home. Aside from the sound experience itself, the studio is like a work of art all on its own. Siddhartha has a collection of somewhere around 50 instruments, but somehow the space does not feel cluttered. Everything seemed to be placed with careful thought and intention. Everything was clean and tidy and felt like like cozy refuge from the chaotic energy of the city. There was a mat and small pillows for us both to lye down with plenty of space to get comfortable. Unlike other sound baths that are often limited to gong, singing bowls and tuning forks, Siddhartha is a talented multi instrumentalist. I lost track of how many instruments he played, but they included sarod, guitar, bansuri flute, keybord, tabla, khartal, gong and mantra chanting. Siddhartha performed like a sonic mad scientist guiding our journey. The experience took us both into a deep relaxed meditative state where we completely lost sense of time. Siddhartha seemed to approach everything with passion and thoughtfulness. It was clear that what he does is a labor of love for him. I would highly recommend the sound experience!
Surya Sound Temple is a peaceful oasis in Brooklyn. Every time I've been there I've always felt welcome and with caring company. Sid plays genuinely heartfelt music from his good heart, and has many musical instruments and interesting things to look at filling the place almost everywhere. If you're looking for some peace, a momentary unwinding, you'll definitely be doing yourself a favor booking a session!

Siddhartha is a master weaver of higher conciousness through the medium of sounds. Using a dizzying array of instruments both ancient and modern, the sound bath experience was truly sublime. Most importantly, it is obvious that this is a "labor of love," and done with a smile and desire to truly be of service.
An authentic, rich, and abundant sanctuary and temple of sound, wisdom and high vibrations. I am so grateful to have found this temple of light and will definitely be back regularly for more magical experiences. If you are in NY, do not miss this opportunity, just book a sound bath session, instrumental session or workshop. There is so much to explore in wonder and awe!
Sid is an exceptional teacher and guide. Everyone should experience the gift of visiting this transformative space.
