We had a fabulous time renting kayaks for the day. Chris was very easygoing and friendly. It was a blast - even when it was raining. We would definitely do it again!
Amazing camping space! My buddies and I went there and the main owner Chris was so kind and helpful. He showed us around the island at his favorite spots and said we can setup anywhere we liked. He also let us keep our kayaks all day and just dock them near our campsite. The man is a good business person not trying to take your money as he also refunded us money he thought we overpaid. Also the scenery on the island and while kayaking was amazing. Only suggestion is it might not be too family friendly as it's more of a free-for-all with not much direction/guidance while camping or kayaking but it is great for just a group of friends trying to have fun. Would definitely come back here again for the great service and scenery!
Just finished an awesome canoe trip down the Susquehanna River! Chris the owner is a really great guy and very helpful with suggestions for your excursion. We made the entire trip in about two hours, and that included stopping on some of the islands and having a look around. It’s extremely calm and peaceful both on the water and on the empty islands. We saw blue egrets, eagles, and a big flock of geese on the water. We didn’t actually camp on the island, but did have a look at the campsites and the empty treehouses. They are pretty rustic, but modern cots are provided for comfort. I’d highly recommend this as a great way to enjoy a day on the river. Bring a couple bottles of water and a snack, or just grab lunch after at JP’s at the launching area.
Best camping trip ever! Chris's private island is so beautiful. Full of animals like deer, river otter, beaver, and tons of fish. He is so helpful and such a great guy; went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and had a great time. It was so amazing our chocolate lab Wilbur didn't want to leave. Thank you Chris, the fireworks master, we will definitely be back
Stayed this past weekend and it was terrible. Chris owner provided horrible service, hidden fees, price were never enclosed and never posted online. He jacked up prices and charged different members of my party different prices for kayak rental. He treated us rudely and fat shamed my partner and I. It was terrible and I do not reccomend this place to anyone. Overall, the place was cheap and the treehouse was nice. Just inconvenient to deal with a person who is constantly belittling you.
Great kayak trip but neither he nor the cashier wore masks. The cashier coughed frequently. On the way up to the drop point, Chris spent the entire drive giving us his very strong political opinions we hadn't asked for them. It made the ride up a bit uncomfortable. I recommend separating politics and business.
