All of the nurses that helped me through my delivery were extremely attentive and caring and made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed throughout the whole process. Definitely made my first pregnancy an amazing experience. Thank you.
I had the most amazing birth experience I could have asked for. I was so scared for labor and delivery but it was easy and I felt so at home through everything. Dr. Scates is the most professional doctor you could have and all the nurses from labor and delivery to the postpartum rooms were amazing. When they checked on me and took care of me in my vulnerable state they always made me feel like a person and not just their job and they complimented baby girl every time they saw her. I have no clue how to care for a newborn and they guided me through every step. I’m so sad to be moving because I would deliver here 100 times over again. Thank you for making me feel safe during such a scary first experience. I can’t pinpoint any nurse specifically because every one was amazing, but my first night time nurse Baylee I think was her name I wish she could have worked into the next shift because she was so comforting.
I had to go last night 27 weeks for some decreased fetal movement and cramping. From admitting nurse who promptly called nurse station to confirm she could bring me right to triage to autumn and Brittany who were my nurses I was listened to wasn't made to feel bad for coming in during my second trimester. Very thorough everything was explained in a way I could understand. And now when I do actually go into labor when it's time I just hope I get them both as my nurses. Brittany took over when autumn left and the shift change went seamlessly for me. Also the nurse who did the iv was amazing just forgot her name. I was impressed from beginning to end
When I went arrived at the hospital, I was already in labor. They got me in very quickly with no hesitations! The front desk ladies were so friendly. They placed me in a room and got me an epidural very fast. The doctor was very gentle with me, especially since I’m terrified with needles. My nurse Debbie was amazing. She explained everything that was going on step by step, and took such good care of me. She checked on me all the time, made sure everything was clean and had tons of patience for my 2 year old daughter. Dr. Slack came in to check on me, told me exactly what was going on and was the most gentle doctor in the world! She was great! My recovery nurse Christina was great too! She was so friendly and checked on me frequently. She explained everything to me so that I understood everything I needed to know. Bottom line my expirence here was the best, from start to finish! I delivered my first at a different hospital and I wish I had this experience with my first.
A year later revisiting my birth at the hospital. There were several things I recall being fantastic and several very tramatic. There were some nurses that were fantastic such as the one who coached me through delivery, she was fantastic. The anesthesiologist was great for my epidural. There was a time where the pitocin made my daughters heart rate slow so they calmed me down and helped me not worry. Though some of my family was not very fond of her she followed my wishes of keeping people out of my delivery room. The one nurse that was extremely rude to me rushing out of the hosipital. I was not quite ready to leave and she was very rude to me when I said I would like to stay for dinner and then leave. My food was never brought to me and when I told them I was going to leave it took them an hour to get a nurse in for the car seat check and release us. Other than that the rest of the staff were fantastic.
As someone who's worked in hospitals for over 6 years I can honestly say the Sutter Roseville birth center is the best experience I've ever had! The online pre check-in made the process so easy when we got there. The nurses in labor and delivery are amazing. Eve was our nurse and explained everything, is knowledgeable and is sweet! We were delayed by an emergency right before our scheduled c-section and labor and delivery gave us a gift which was unexpected but special to us. Dr. Joseph Ruccione was our anesthesiologist. Other than having a great sense of humor he is a master of his craft! My first experience of any major surgery. He calmed me during the c-section with explaining and answering all my questions as we went along. Dr. Diana Canavero worked with my OB Dr. Blake Lambourne on the delivery. She is so caring and was so pleasant when she checked on me and baby postpartum. Dr. Lambourne is humorous but also informative and honest, which I appreciate. He is also laid back and calming which helped me a lot as a first time mother. All the nursing staff in postpartum were all professional and very sweet. They answered my ringing in a nice way and cared so much about me and the baby swaddling him, adjusting, and helping me with anything else I needed. All top notch ladies!
I will give my honest opinion to help others understand my rating. My experience started when I was 23 weeks, and I had large bleeding. I spoke to some nurse at sutter obgyn who told me just to rest, but my family and I felt there's something wrong, so I went to labor and delivery. They let me stay only one night and sent me back home. During that one day, I saw Dr. Murphy who ran some tests which I didn't understand, but what I know for sure that I should've been kept for longer and monitored for more than just A DAY. They told me to go home and rest, and see my dr in two days. I saw dr. Melissa Johnson on Tuesday, and she told me that I was fine based on Dr. Murphy's notes. She didn't do any ultrasound, she didn't check my hormonal level, she didn't check if I'm having any contractions, and she didn't even request any labs or anything. She looked at me and told me that I was fine, and I can be back working and driving. Literally two days later on Thursday, I was in labor. I delivered at 23 weeks and 6 days. My point is, everything is in God's hand, but they way I was treated is not right. Starting from the hospital where I spent only one night to the dr's appointment, I didn't feel like my baby and I were important to them. To wrap up the story, my son passed away and my whole pregnancy was done over a night. This is a tip to this whole organization, please take care of your pts. Don't look at them as insurance objects, you're dealing with people's life and feelings. **Also, I forgot to mention that I was first time pregnant**
This was my first experience having a child and I thought Sutter was a good choice. I was wrong. My prenatal visits were pretty standard and everything seemed to be going well. My labor and delivery nurses were ok. I had one really nice nurse but Misty the nurse I had after her was awful. I didn't know exactly what to expect but all the nurses prior to her were pretty regular in their rounds to just stop in and make sure I didn't need any more water or ice. I was told the doctor would be in at 6am and I would see him then. Over 4 hours past and no one had been in my room not a nurse nor the doctor. It was about 7:30am and I was a little anxious to find out if I had dilated any so I hit the call button. "Yes" in a less than courteous tone was the response I got. I asked if someone would be in to check on me soon. "Do you need something?" I was still a little taken back because she seemed very annoyed. When she came to my room she kind of made me feel like I was wrong to ask for anyone. "We can see everything on the monitors at the station, so unless you need anything there is no need for you to push that button." My family became upset by her attitude and told her she was being rude. There was a little back and forth with her but she kept this same rude tone and only apologized for no one having told me that I didn't need to call unless I needed something. My husband was visibly upset but he didn't curse or insult her he explained that we were having our first child and he didn't appreciate the manner she was speaking to his wife and family. At this point Misty says that she wasn't going to tolerate his tone and if he continued she would have him escorted out by security. I immediately felt a rise in me. I wanted to leave. It was an effective distraction from the contractions but not so excellent for the blood pressure of a patient. My husband left the room. I finally spoke and asked her "What have I done to you? I don't understand why you are being so rude. What did I do?" I lost my composure put my head in my hands and began sobbing. When I looked up she was gone. It was terrible, I never imagined a birth experience like this one. We complained to the doctor and the chief of staff but all the doctor did was try to explain that she was a good nurse and didn't have anything against us. I got a new nurse Kathy I believe her name was. She was very helpful throughout the remainder of my delivery but it couldn't make up for Misty. It had been almost 3 years and it still upsets me that she threatened to kick my husband out of the room. If that had happened I would have walked out of that hospital and went home. I understand that nurses deal with busy days, slow days, diva expectant mothers and fairly mild ones but I didn't do anything to her to make her react that way. I couldn't help but wonder if my skin color was the reason she decided not to check on me for 4 hours and have such a rude attitude. It might not have been that at all she may just not be a considerate person. Going in to the hospital I had planned on staying as long as they would allow. When offerred to go home the next day or stay another night, without hesitation I said we will leave today. Having a baby is what seems like would be a no brainer that all the hospital staff around you would be kind and courteous but that wasn't what I got.
As a new father. The labor and delivery, and postpartum nurses were so amazing. I will never forget my time there, and all the special moments we went thru going thru the birthing process.
Sutter Roseville labor and delivery does not even deserve one star. Doctor BLAKE LAMBOURNE and the nurses are beyond horrible!! Blake SHOULD NOT be a doctor. Because we are not specifically assigned to this hospital, he was more concerned about my insurance then he was my health or my baby's health. If you are a first-time mother DO NOT COME HERE!!!! I cannot stress that enough. The nurses and doctors here treated us like we are a waste of their time.
