This page is dedicated to the Arts and Humanities community of Shenandoah Valley Governor's School.
The Visual Arts and Theatre programs offer students the opportunity to work with professional artists and performers as well as receive exceptional instruction from SVGS teachers in their craft and the humanities. In the two-year program, students earn eight credits taking classes such as Introduction to Theatre, Art History (junior and senior), Drama Theory and Criticism, Studio Acting I & II, Studio Art I & II, Crafts and Skills with guest artists, and English/Humanities. Many classes offer college credit through dual-enrollment or Advanced Placement options. Students graduate very well-prepared for further study in a wide variety of fields at competitive universities, art institutes, and drama conservatories.
