SVOSH at UHCO is the student chapter of VOSH, the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
SVOSH is a University of Houston College of Optometry student organization striving to give a little back to the community and abroad. We are a dedicated group comprised of students, faculty, and staff who are trying to make a difference by providing vision care for those in need locally and internationally.
Anyone is free to join us at fundraisers and events, but only members get the perks of our points! Points are determined by the number of hours you have spent at events, meetings, and fundraisers, and are used towards our Mission Trips: Honduras in the Fall and a Summer Mission Trip that varies locations.
Membership dues are usually about $30 for the Academic Year & include a t-shirt. Remember to fill out the membership form yearly!
Please visit our Facebook Page often for up-to-date information on events, fundraisers, and meeting notes, which will be posted after each meeting!
The mission of SVOSH is to provide eyecare services to all who need it, especially those who would not normally receive such care, primarily through vision screenings at the local level & eye prescriptions and eyeglasses at the international level.
