We went here for the family friendly atmosphere. It was reported to have a playground and great food for kids. The grocery and restaurant have a fantastic array of healthy and fresh food. My kids were starving when we arrived and they were hoping for nuggets and fries but no luck at this place. We were excited for the challenge of finding something different for them to eat. We worked with the menu and found the yogurt parfait, avocado toast and grilled cheese to be the right order for our kids. The play area is more ideal for toddlers and preschool age little ones but the older kids didn’t seem to mind. Overall fantastic experience! It has a charming European farmers market vibe complete with fresh baked baguettes that are a must have when visiting! The grocery is great place to find unique foods, gluten-free food, vegan food, raw milk, wines, bees wax candles, etc!
I’ve been coming to Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery for years. Not only do they have tasty breakfast and lunch food options, they have a fairly well stocked grocery which prioritizes local farmers and suppliers as much as possible. Plus the arrangement of all their buildings is fun if not a bit hodgepodged. You go inside a main building to shop, you go out to a covered separate building to check out, you pickup food and drink orders from a walk-up drive-thru style window, and then there’s yet another building for indoor cafe seating. Plus there’s a play area outside for kids and it’s right next to the ever-popular Swamp Rabbit Trail that runs the span of the entire Greenville metro area. Finally, they have tons of outdoor shaded picnic tables. I would like to put special emphasis on the detached building that houses the seating area specifically. Despite my regular patronage, I’ve never actually sat inside to eat. It was a super nice, finished indoor area with a PAC-Man arcade game, foosball table, a shelved corner full of board games, super cool A/C, etc. The only criticism I have is that their cafe/bakery menu is very simple-carbs heavy and breadie. It’d be nice to see more health-conscious options. Vegetarian options: They label their food choices as veggie/vegan where appropriate Kid-friendliness: Kids play area included outside with second-hand outdoor toys Parking: The first lot is usually full but you can drive around the block to a secondary lot on other side as well as park in the back of the building
Fantastic place in a fantastic town. Great locally roasted coffee, peach scones, freshly baked bread, breakfast sandwiches in a fun environment on a bike path. The little market had all the essentials including raw milk, pasture raised, grass fed beef and pastrami, local cheeses, in season peaches, beer and wine and so much more.
Awesome shop/eats locally grown. Great selection of prime meats, organic raw milk, eggs, produce. Seasonal strawberries are delicious!!! Definitely coming back here..Recommended dishesRoast Beef Sandwich
Swamp Rabbit is such a unique grocery store and cafe. I stopped here while passing through Greenville and I would go back just for Swamp Rabbit! They have an amazing selection of local grocery and a large cafe menu. There’s tons of fresh produce and unique local products like handmade pasta, pasta sauce, local beer, etc. The day I was there it was raining, so we got 1/2 off sandwiches for a “rainy day special”. I have enjoyed my food and shopping every time I come. I was disappointed they were sold out of bread last time I came, but that also shows how good the bread is. I keep forgetting to snap my food before I devour it. I do have pics of plants I bought two months ago. They are the ones in the front and they are still thriving.
Great atmosphere and food options. I had the chai latte and breakfast Pagoda... It was so good. Very convenient to the walk so that when my dog and I were done walking we stopped in. I love all the local options too.Food: 5/5
I’ve had the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery book marked on Yelp for several years. Every year I have said I was going to visit during my holiday vacation. I finally made my visit today. They have it nicely decorated for the holidays and there’s even a mail box for letters to Santa. The store reminded me a little of the Happy Cow Creamery and they carry Happy Cow products. It had fresh, organic and local items. Many varieties of oranges, apples, cheeses, Jeni’s Ice cream, alcohol beverages, fresh baked cookies. There’s is also a cafe serving a variety of baked goods, smoothies, and specialty sandwiches. For first time visitors you get a free freshly baked baguette. For a fun and enjoyable shopping spree, stop by the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery Store.
Yet another 5 star review for this awesome place. $4 avocado toast on delicious stecca bread is a screaming deal. Yogurt parfait was an elevated experience. Also yummy aconeFood: 5/5
Variety of unique products. If this store was near a campground or isolated area, could definitely see coming here. Otherwise, the prices are wildly high. Trader Joe’s has equally unique items more reasonably priced
