I used to enjoy shopping in Sweetbay. They have all been taken over by Winn Dixie in our area. I feel like the store is pretty similar except one major problem. The Produce. The produce in Winn Dixie is about as bad as I could ask for. Bruised apples, lettuce that is ready to be bad. I could go on. I preferred it better when it was Sweetbay. Although the fuel perks are pretty awesome so I reserve winn Dixie for water, drinks, and other items like cereal and milk and stuff.
Just finished shopping there this morning 22 November 2013, my checkout was at 1100 and my cashier was a combination of Maria and/or her in-store boyfriend, who actually checked me out since Maria was helping a customer who was before me, then decided to help another customer out instead of me, as her checkout lane allowed two patrons to arrive from opposite sides. The checkout lines are painfully slow; there were only two checkout lanes open. I wait to checkout, and when I see Maria going to help out another patron instead of me, I decide to leave and check out the only other lane. Her in-store boyfriend shows up, seeing me leave, but choosing to say nothing, opens the lane, and helps out the patron who was behind me. The only one who decided to show any initiative was a young asian looking fellow, who tried to open a checkout lane without success. I shop here frequently, and the ridiculously slow checkout lanes are a frequent occurrence.
