A family owned jewelry store having been in business for over 62 years. Mr James Swords has traveled the country to learn the business, and has even written several manuals along the way. He set up a store from in Guntersville, AL in 1996. Mr. James' brother, Mr. Gary Swords, joined the Guntersville Swords location in 2010.

Took a mechanical watch here for repair and they kept it for a month and gave it back to me in the same condition I had taken it, I took it back and told him it wasn't fixed and they kept it another two weeks and gave it back and it lasted a total of 3 weeks this time. If you are looking to have a timepiece repaired this is not the place you want to go.
Original review: Over a year ago I took an earring to Swords to have the post replaced. Over one year now and 8 visits back, I still don't have it!! "It's in the office, it's lock, & only Brother has the key." "Brother's been sick." "Still can't find it." etc., etc., etc. Now I'm just ignored. They ship out their repairs, and if all the horror stories I have heard as I've told my tale around town are true, you might want to reconsider what you leave for repair. Response after my review was posted: Transcript of a VM from Swords: “I’m sorry you feel like that about your earrings. But when you came in, I think I spoke to you once and I don’t know who else you spoke to, and told you we would do our best to find it. But if you look down in your receipt, it said, right down the about the 3rd line where the charges are, ‘This store is not responsible for articles left over 60 days.’ Now you came in a lot longer after that but it didn’t matter. I’ve looked through everything, OK, and I can’t find the thing at all. I’m sorry you feel that way with all my heart. I really am. We’ve never had this before, and I apologize this happened to you, but I think there’s more than our fault in this. But after 60 days, we scrap things if we can’t get in touch with people like I can’t get in touch with you right now, we scrap things. OK. I’m sorry again with all my heart.” I went in from the following week after leaving my earring, and often after than and heard every excuse imaginable for the store’s inability to return my property. It’s behind a locked door, can’t use a locksmith, Brother is sick, Brother is out, etc., etc., etc. I left my name & number each time. Never a call back, never a response. Now, “we’ve never had this before”. Shouldn’t you be more concerned? Nope. The bottom line to Swords? Why, I should have picked it up within the first 60 days!
Family owned and operated by really nice people. Found my fiance's wedding band there. Great service!
