Sycamore City - Administrative, Police Department

Thank you to the police officer who’s name unfortunately I didn’t get who went out of busy night to come help me unlock my running car with my puppy inside. I had the same unfortunate thing happen a couple weeks ago but the outcome wasn’t like today. God bless your heart sir and sycamore police department thank you for being there for the community in all different types of situation.

It doesn't surprise me anymore that there are people out there who just don't get it. I mean, really, ?, don't arrest people for violating a law, like smoking marijuana? Are you LOSERS really that stupid? I've never seen a junkie who didn't start with marijuana. I don't care what you think, or, how hard you try and deny it, but, marijuana IS a gateway drug. Why don't you try being a pillar of the community instead of society's problem. Take that turn in life and perhaps you'll recognize the problems you present the police and everyone you come in contact with. My experience with ANY police, is, it's all in how you present yourself. The Sycamore Police Officer's are no different than those I've met in all corners of the world. They have a tough job because of all the idiots out there.

Never had a problem with them. Always helpful when I lose my keys... which has happened 2 times lol. They helped my sister with her forst car accident and even tho the scene of the accident was left they informed her of how to go about it without harrassing her or putting her in cuffs. People it is very simple, of you dont break the law they won't bother you. They are police officers, their job isn't to be your friend. But even when you need help they are their which is more than I can say for most of my "friends" ... They also helped me with a domestic dispute between my ex and I. They were fair and we resolved the issue without having to take it to court or any further.

I just have a question for this police department. on 4/8/17 an elgin cop was arrested for DUI. he refused a breath test, had the elgin owned pick up he was driving towed, and ended up having everything squashed by his ex commander who is now the chief of police for Sycamore. Why hasnt his license been suspended for a year for refusal to blow at the very minimum. This is the most egregious abuse of police power I have ever seen. It is absolutely no wonder why people do not trust cops anymore. they are apparently above the law.I hope that someone with some type of authority sees this abuse and ends the careers of these criminals because thats what would happen if it were you or I. But i am a realist. This will more than likely just fade away and be forgotten. But one last thing. I hope DUI attorneys everywhere read about this case and use it to defend regular people who are accused of DUI in this criminal jurisdiction.

The lady at the front desk is insane doesn't want to help in any way and is very mad to have to talk to anyone. Nice to know I can call her when I'm having an emergency.

You should never charge some one for marijuana "crimes". Arresting someone for marijuana possession is like giving someone a ticket for getting poison ivy...it makes no sense and you know it.

It's the PD. Not much to see but has clean landscaping, the jail is clean, the officers are mostly nice, and the food is just ok for the jail house varity.

I love our police they protect our schools, and keep the law abiding citizens secure and safe, I could never thank them enough for the impact they have in the community.

Officer was more than kind to me and gave me a ride home and talked to me after. They give police a good name.
